If it was for just one of the top four, it could still be regarded as just a slice of the pie rather than a World Title.

The way I see it, unless you beat the main man at that weight, all you're doing is fighting an eliminator, and picking up a trinket in the process.

Are the IBO really any worse than the big four?

What are the top four organizations? Why are they the top four, and why is there only four?

 

'best'? What does that mean? The WBO have had Eamonn Loughran as their champion when Messrs De la Hoya, Quartey, Trinidad, Espana, Carr, Whitaker, Campos et al were around, and yet they were one of the four best organizations?

'Alphabet crap' or 'World titles' are just that, be it WBA, WBC, IBF, IBO, IBU, ABC, or what ever, they tend to make fighters a bit more money because TV likes them. Because of that they all mean the same, there are not four better organizations than the rest. Indeed if you look into it, three of the four are just *******izations of each other...

what kind of world title allows anyone in the top 50 to fight for vacant title? I actually believe had the IBO come along and gotten support earlier it would have been the best org, right now its about as legit as an interim WBA titke.

 

Which is a belt from one of the supposed big 4, there are all useless as each other, the IBO belt is exactly the same as any other world title.

They might be shite but not all of them have guys way out of the top 20 fighting each other for a title. Despite all the **** that's gone on, the WBA proper title is still the same Ali had in the day...

If I was a fighter, I'd want the belts. What are you meant to do? Get to world level then just stop fighting for titles?

 

No just have 1 proper World Championship and everybody fight for that.

 

It's the "regular WBA title" that irks me. That's just taking the ****.

I will see anyone that wins one of the big 4 as a "world champion", you just need to remember that "world champion" has different shades of meaning in boxing today.

 

Will never happen because there is money to be made by the various different organizations.
