i think people have different expectations for what should be ppv. i'd personally will pay for an event if it looks like it will provide a good few hours of entertainment. i'd rather pay for this then something like haye-harrison.
PPV is normally about one big fight, for example Hatton V Pacquiao while only lasting 6 minutes was well worth £15. But in a different way I don't begrudge paying £15 for tonight's fights. All 50-50 fights (which is unlike Warren) I'm looking forward to every bout.
Decent set of domestic fights but no HUGE fight on the bill. I will not pay for average domestic boxing. I am sure the fights will be enhtertaining and the fact all of them are being shown will make it worthwhile...but I am a tight Barnsley *******. Brook vs Jennings and Sexton vs Chisora are good but it is a card stacked with decent undercard fights and no headliner...this is just like two Friday night fights put on one night.
Loads of 50-50 fights and easily the best British show, on paper, this year. What else comes close? And how the original poster can not include Clev-Murat in his decent fights is way beyond me - its a British guy with huge potential against a former unbeaten EBU ruler who has beaten Campillo the ex-WBA champ. I have paid for worse bills in the past, granted with a bigger marquee fight on top.
Lets face it, if this card was a Friday Fight night show, we would be creaming ourselves. Just over £2 a fight, seems fair. Should show Frankie Gavin's fight too at some stage.
****ing agree totally ... fair play to warren when have we seen 7 fights on a card were each one could top the bill.... :good
I think it's a more than reasonable card to be honest. Ok so none of them are for so-called world titles but it's far better value than Sky's recent pay per views (Haye-Ruiz, Khan-Kotelnik, Haye-Valuev etc). It's a packed card with 7 entertaining, meaningful fights. Frank Warren gets a bit of stick for protecting his boxers but every one of the fights on this card is perfect for each boxer and it should add up to a memorable night. All these fights could easily be spread out over the next 7 weeks headlining their own Saturday Fight Night events but having them together is special. I don't always like the idea of Pay Per View but I really hope this sells well and we start to get more packed cards like this.
Your not a fan at all this is best british card for a while and gives the young guns a chance to shine and gain more fans outside of us hardcores. Seriously worst comment i will hear all day. Go and choose something else to watch like badminton.
i don't think anyone inside hardcore boxing cares what happens to Small. Lucky he's not (and never has been) on the show tonight.
