That was pathetic. That fat blob was blasting Mago with right hands. Mago has no defense at all. If he was fighting a halfway decent opponent tonight he would have gotten knocked out
this is a conversation about Mago though, so what's your point? that doesn't take away from the fact that Mago seriously lacks defensive prowess... anyway, I suspect that Mago will continue to be fed bums until he becomes a better all around fighter, meaning better defense, because the offense is there. you can tell that he hits really, really hard. he also has a pretty awkward, deliberate style that can pose a problem to heavyweights in the future. I like the guy, he brings excitement, but he needs to sure up that defense.
Man this guy looked like **** tonight. Heavy hands yes but he is the epitome of a padded record hype job. I thought he was gonna get KO'd in round one after that fat **** was rocking his head back like that. Seth Mitchell would have smoked Mago and Wilder would have killed him too.
He needs to get another trainer. Pablo Sarmiento isn't the guy you want to teach you defense. He does train Sergio Martinez, but his training experience with him obviously won't help because Sergio doesn't fight with his hands up. His other fighter, Javier Fortuna, also suffers with the no defense problem.
So another epitome of a padded record hypejob would kill him :rofl At least Mago hasn't been KD by Harold Sconiers. Oh I forgot, Wilder is american so in your universe he wins by default because of that :nut
Whatever, He'll be fine. Wicked power, southpaw, good size. He is going to be a factor in the heavyweight division.
The guy only has 13 pro fights and got a late start in boxing. He was in there with a unbeaten no-hoper who was just swing wild, Mago was not hurt at all in the first round and got an easy KO. But I may be a little perjudice because I'm not desperate to find fault with every East Euro fighter like some on ESB are...
So, The cuban guy goes out there, swings, lands, gets nothing. Mago goes out there, swings, lands, the cuban is flat on his back. Sounds good enough for me, considering Mago is still a prospect with just 13 professional fights.
