Mago showing tremendous signs of improvement!

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!! Doing pretty well from what I've read, he's able to speak now(with some degree of difficulty) and he recognizes all of his friends/family. Scene it for more information.

    It's painful to even think that it should be cause for celebration that he can barely speak.

    Sorry for getting excited about a fighter that nearly died multiple times showing serious signs of improvement.. The fact that he's aware of his surroundings, recognizes his friends and family and has regained the ability to speak in less than 8 months is very promising... His speech problem is nothing that therapy can't fix(hopefully) I'm hoping that by the 1 year anniversary of his tragic fight with Mike Perez he'll have shown even more improvements... Come on man, it's good to be positive.. Some were saying that Mago would be a vegetable for the rest of his life, but he fought hard and proved you guys wrong.

    I'm not criticizing you for getting excited. You should get excited. I was excited when I read the thread title before clicking it.

    But when looking at it in proper perspective, Magomed should not be in this position. He should be rebounding from his first professional defeat, by getting a rematch with Perez and beating him. It's sad to see a fighter like Mago go out on his shield the way he did, and have to suffer for the rest of his life for it.

    My sincerest condolences will always go to Mago.

    My heart goes out to he and his family. I'm wishing him a full recovery. Such a dangerous sport man.

    Obviously.... It should have never happened, but the past is the past, we can't change it. We can only learn from tragedies like this and hope they prevent more from happening in the future. In the meantime it's best to look at the positives, and not to dwell on the negatives and what should have transpired. Mago is showing major improvements, and could very well live a near-normal life after he fully recovers. I looked forward to hearing about more improvements.

    This is why I never held it against Alvarado when he opted to pull out of the Provodnikov fight. He knew it would be a pointless gesture of bravery. Why risk the damage. This sport can be so brutal at times, and I can't hold it against a fighter if he quits after sustaining hellacious abuse at the hands of his opponents.

    I was wondering yesterday how he was improving, any signs of improvement are encouraging but it's been a long time now and that does is encouraging

    Michael Schumacher is in the same situation unfortunately

    Great news out of a terrible situation. Hopefully Mago continues his improvement- that he's even alive after the debacle surrounding that fight is a minor miracle in and of itself.

    Great that hes improving.

    Hopefully he can push on from here.

    Brain injuries take years to improve, if at all though.

    If he can get to the level Michael Watson is now, it would be something.

    Good, I hope this is only the beginning of steady recovery so he maybe still can have a somewhat decent life after this.
