Fury could even KO himself before Abdusalamov got a chance too!

After watching Mago's latest victory, I would have to pick Fury. Fury is vulnerable, but his skill level is far superior to Mago's at this time. I'm talking mostly about Fury's ability to jab, his capacity to clinch when in trouble, and his capacity to use his height and reach to command fights in the open ring. It's not that I think Fury is all that good in these areas, but rather, that these strengths put him ahead of the very raw Abdusalamov.

Mago needs a lot of work. He telegraphs his punches and lacks handspeed. He's kind of wild, he can be hit, and his conditioning is still suspect (although he's certainly in better shape than he was a year or two ago). Against Power, Mago looked confused sometimes and he had great trouble closing the wedge (distance). Power's height and jab obviously gave Mago trouble.

I could see Fury commanding this fight with his jab, and clinching when in trouble, much as he did when stung by Chisora, Firtha, and Pajkic. Fury can also hit a bit, he has fair power. My guess is that Mago would be exhausted after 3 or 4 rounds of hard fighting, and then Fury's combos to the head and body would score a stoppage win.

Mago is at least a year away from being ready for Fury. He needs more polish and better conditioning before taking this fight.

Still, it would incredibly stupid for Fury's handlers to match him against Mago, now or in the future. That's because Fury doesn't take a punch well, and he can be hit. There's always the chance that Mago could wreck Fury with any single punch.
