I place a lot of the blame on his manager for not throwing in the towel !!!

One has to know whats in the best interest of his fighter and make the call !!!

Mago WILL recover. He's already shown tremendous signs of improvement, in a year or two time sure he'll be functional again. Even though he's improved a lot, it's still breaks my heart to see him in the state he's in, a complete shell of himself. It looks like he weighs 120 lbs. While this video is grim, it's still a positive sign, Mago by all accounts is lucky to be alive and many(including posters on here) were suggesting he would be a vegetable for the rest of his life, he's proved a lot of people wrong. Maybe, just maybe he'll recover enough to become a trainer one day. we'll see.

Let this be a lesson to all the idiots here who say this person is a coward or they quit. This is real life not a video game. This man gave it all in the ring and is a shell of his former self and has a long recovery ahead of him. I wish him and his family the best.

To be fair. in the moment, the fight was still competitive. Mago was landing good shots throughout the fight.

In hindsite,it would have been great if the fight was stopped, but despite Perez being on top, Mago was always competitive.

I would agree, but theres a fine line between disgraceful quitters like Tor Hamer and quitting or your stool after a beating. Wouldn't you say?

The corner/ref are to blame for Magos current condition btw, it's disgusting that fight went the distance.

I can somewhat agree. In Hamer's last fight he quit in like 2 rounds without really taking any punishment, that was a disgraceful quit job no doubt. I'm talking more about people who quit after taking punishment. For example, Angulo when he quit against Lara you had people saying he was a quitter which was ridiculous. Even Ortiz when he quit against Maidana he was doing well early but started getting his ass kicked and quit. I used to call out guys for quitting but realized after seeing one too many boxers suffering after their careers were over that I was wrong, and this is real life. I bashed Zoo for quitting against Hatton which I now realize was a mistake. The guy was a HOF fighter who gave his all and just had enough.

I'll be happy if he's walking, even with a walker. Talking, even with a slur....
He should steer clear of the fight game though. He wouldnt be a good trainer b/c he wasn't a great boxer. He was by all account a murderous puncher with loads of heart, but you can't teach those things.

Also, with what he's gone thru, I could see him pulling a fighter out like Provo vs a guy like Algeri. Don't know if he'd be the right type to train fighters. Tough to say.
