It was a ref stoppage. Pettaway was getting abused, though.

Abdusalamov was too strong for him, but showed nothing to suggest he's a genuine prospect. Way too slow and uncoordinated. Strong like bull, but that's about it.

 

Mago's got no defence, though he can take a punch

we'll see what he's made of when he faces someone from the Top 50

 

See how Mago kept dropping his hands? I don't think he'll ever outgrow that habit. I agree that Mago's prospects are questionable. After tonight's fight, they'll be raising questions as to whether Mago is really the massive puncher he's been advertised as being.

 

What evidence is there that Mago "can take a punch?" He's never fought a half decent puncher as a pro. His chin is still a question mark: it's anyone's guess as to whether Mago is durable.

Noteworthy is that tonight, orginally, Mago was supposed to fight a Brazilian with a big KO record. For some reason, that fight was scrapped in favor of Pettway, who, obviously, is harmless.

 

How is Pettaway harmless? I know he hasn't fought any serious opponents, but nobody with a 11-0 record is "harmless."

 

Petaway needs to get away from terance kelly . Terance did indeed call mago a ****** and a ******* . It has been confirmed ! Someone wrote from my home town that they are going to take terances prostetic leg off and beat his racist ass . Lmao

 

Magomed fought at 221. Just proves that you can still have killer power no matter the size. Power is power.

 

He didn't really display killer power, though.

Just heavy handedness. Big difference.

Besides, it's hardly as thought Jason Pettaway has proven himself at a high level as some iron chinned warrior.

He came across tonight as a bit of a milquetoast, who can probably box circles around tomato cans but will always fail when he steps up.

 

It isn't all that hard to pad a record.

Just saw the fight and i have no idea what everyone else was watching. I don't think Mago is a 1st tier Hw prospect but he looked quite good tonight. Pettaway certianly isn't a bum and after the 1st minute of the 1st round it was a one sided fight. Mago landed lots of power shots and stunned him almost every time he landed. How you look at that fight and question his power i have no idea. He's not a defensive wizard but he didn't get hit with anything real significant in the fight, it looked fine.
