ah Freedom I can see you are a klitschko fanboy but thats fine. That is no reason to defend their horrible promotions and how they leave fighters who are permanently injured with nothing. Thank God there was another millionaire who helped out and donated.
Both Mago and Schumacher are in similar condition now. Except Mago's is most likely in worse condition.
What happened to Mago is absolutely disgusting. No one seemed to give a **** that the man was obviously seriously hurt 1 His corner .... They kept pushing him out round after round when he was obviously in distress 2 The referee ... It was obvious Mago was seriously hurt yet he did nothing 3 Probably the worst offenders The NYCAC What doctors did they have on hand? To let a man take such a beating was horrific. When it came to the after fight medical who the hell examined MAgo??? They were supposed to be taking care of the fighters. They let Mago leave the arena after passing him FIT to do so HOW????? When he collapsed he was forced to hail a cab to take him to hospital via the emergeancy room. The NYCAC failed so badly I think they should be banned from holding any more cards till their house is put in order. Someone said "Dont turn this into a Klitschko bashing thread" They promoted the fight & since have dissassociated themselves with Mago & his family. Where are the supposed benevolent good guy Klitschko heroes??? Maybe theyre too busy posing for more nude pics together to concern themselves with such trivialities. Bottom line for me is ALL these people failed Mago & should be forced to put things right and do the right thing. When a fighter enters the ring he expects to be properly looked after Mago wasnt. God Bless him and his family
the men who promoted that event and insured him for $7000 in the USA need a good whipping, even if they happen to be your heros. Poor people donated and finally a Russian rich man. The rich men in boxing that had him on their show left him. That deserves a bashing to say the least.
From ESB front page: Heavyweight boxing champ Wladimir Klitschko is in the middle of a bizarre legal fight … involving a boxer he signed who suffered massive injuries during a recent bout. Magomed Abdusalamov — a boxer who was signed by Klitschko’s company, K2 Boxing Promotions — suffered permanent brain damage in a November, 2013 bout at Madison Square Garden. The fight went the full 10 rounds and there was no question … Mike Perez won. In fact, he beat Abdusalamov so badly, he ended up having brain surgery and suffered a series of strokes. He may never walk or talk again. Abdusalamov’s wife has sued Klitschko’s company … claiming the champ and his people should have stopped the fight when it was clear her husband was badly injured. She also claims there was a delay in getting him medical attention. Klitschko’s company has put a claim in to his insurance company … to cover any judgment in the lawsuit, but the insurance company has now asked a judge to declare the policy ONLY covers injuries like sickness, disease or death outside the ring that would cause cancellation of the fight. The insurance company says there’s a specific exclusion from injuries resulting from the fight itself. A judge has yet to rule.
That's a weird turn of events. :blood If the family were to sue, you'd expect them to sue the organisation for not handeling the situation after the bout adequately enough. If you saw the bout, it was brutal but quite into the FOTY department and things only went south after the fighters left the ring. There wasn't much indication of something being horribly wrong with Mago until he reached the dressing room and everyone that had watched it were in a buzz until the horrible news broke the next day. I think trying to sue K2 for not stopping it mid fight is the wrong way to go, because virtually nobody was even thinking about that. That said, all the best Mago and your family!
Thay video of him recovering was hard to watch. Feels like such a long time ago I didnt realise the recovery would be that slow.
The article is mistaken. Sampson Promotions was Mago's promoter, not K-2. Mike Perez has K-2 as his promoter.
