Kurbanov badly cut in round 1 by a couple of overhand rights from Soro

Man, Kurbanov wants to land bombs only, what's going on with that. Fuuuuuuuck that cut, clash of heads, punches, dunno, Magomed is cut, badly, above his right eye. Soro embarrassed to hit him. Won't go 12 I don't think.

Soro won the first I reckon.

Correction, it was probably a clash of heads but I missed it in real time

Yeah, clash of heads, defensive clash of heads, Soro dipped his head as Kurbanov was coming in, that doesn't look great at all. Ref allowing that excessive vaseline and I don't blame him. Let's see what Soro does with it.

Soro is naughty with the heads on the inside! Kurbanov maintaiing the distance, feinting, very pretty, not sure what he needs right now, he's flicking the jab, crossarm guard going away a bit, lands a nice looping right, Soro weirdly passive, he should be all over this - probably wins the round but he leaves it very late. Both are weirdly passive.

Wow, slowmo of Soro jabbing that vaseline right out of Kurbanov's cut, so ****ing cool.

Kurbanov missing with big punches, he really doesn't have the range for those - misses right hands and upperctus before getting moved back into a corner and shined. Nice overhand right though. I don't know why he isn't jabbing more, it looks decent? Soro is being set no direct technical problems tosolve he's just allowed to take his time and pick his spots. Soro sends him back with one-twos to the body, left hook to the body, nothing clean but clearly wins the first half of the third round.

I thought Soro was spoked by a right hand in the final minute though - very close round this....but Soro again for me. That right hand was interesting though, maybe a turning point?

Key round i'd say. Soro starts bright, clearly has quicker hands, wants to lead but also wants to counter because Kurbanov has just been too passive, but he starts more quickly here than any round since the fourth, pushes Soro about a bit too, good aggression. More jabs Kurbanov, jab jab jab, he's just about out-prodded Soro into the final minute, good bodyshot but he is backed into the corner and Soro works him. For about six seconds only, but I think it's enough to even things up, up for grabs in the final seconds and Kurbanov is passive - Soro warned again I think for low blows, he has been a bit naughty and better watch. Heads now. Should be a point off soon maybe - but he's won the fourth.

I'll stop saying "key rounds" now but they are all key rounds until Kurbanov has won two. This is feeling like a bit of a disaster, and it's not like Soro is taking him to town or anything...clash of heads put him wrong maybe? Anyway, Kurbanov starts the fifth going backwards and lashing single shots, Soro marches him into the ropes and lashes at him, not great punches, but enough that he's in charge of the fifth early. Corner have done a great job on that cut, and Kurbanov does a great job with a left hook there on 1:50 remaining, and another! At 1:40, good. Another closer oround up for grabs in the last forty, Kurbanov a little less passive this time! I think...i think...decent right hand, shells up on the ropes, clinches, gets hit once - ten seconds left... weird fight. But Kurnaov is off the mark on my card.

Soro controls the pace here - Kurbanov is having nothing to say about it. They fight as fast as Soro says. That's very dangerous. It's always more tiring going away, taking more steps, tension in defence. Soro definitely looks the loser. But that's for the tenth, right now, Kurbanov is throwing a bit more but allows Sor to march him to the ropes and hit him at 2:00. It just puts Soro in controll of the round's scoring, and single shots sometimes don't feel like enough to bring it back. Soro has been lazy through the second minute though, jabbing to the body is fine, but you must not hang that punch...Kurbanov throwing nothing at it though, Soro lands 3-4 jabs to the body for no toll. Is his mouth open though? Wow, Soro goes for a walk, this is interesting - this fight is interesting now. Kurbanov hits him with hard bodyshots as the round runs down, oooo close...Soro.

Kurbanov liked what he saw at the end of the sixth and comes out throwing. He does somehow end up on the ropes though  He's als bleeding badly again and it is clearly bothering him. Awww min is it all going wrong for him just when he timed his charge? Soro is dirty in those clinches pushing his forearm into the cut. I don't see how Kurbanov wins from here. Soro is driving him around the ring and nothing is coming back. It looks, right now, like badly handled sparring.

Kurbanov almost exclusively countering so far with no real sense of urgency, when he lets his hands go its clear that he has fairly fast hands and some power as well but he has to be more assertive as Soro is very textbook and won't do him the favor of overcommiting and leaving himself open.

Big moment in the corner. They are slapping his legs, talking a mile a minute and working hard on that cut.

    10/10 for the ringcard girl.

Kurbanov marches out then turns in a circle. He's two-stepping round the outside of the ring. Soro edges him back and works him over on the ropes. Rinse and repeat, he's been doing this for some time. Soro's low hands and quickening march in might spell some sort of redemption for Kurbanov but...it looks bad for Kurbanov. Soro has slowed way down second half though but Kurbanov is just happy to stand him off and look for that lashing right, which hasn't been working for the most part through 8. Soro jabs him. It's enough, lands a good right hand, very short, right at :35 remaining and lets Kurbanov rest on the ropes. Kurbanov dominates the last 30 but it is not enough.

    Kurbanov:5,
