Just because a fighter doesn't slip and slide and brush his hair in front of the crowd doesn't mean he's not skilled or clever. Cayo was a better and more proven fighter than Thurman and you saw what happened to him. Or didn't you?

Disappointing, I was looking foward to this fight, even more than the main event. I wonder if HBO has enough time to find a decent replacement fight or will they do, yet another, 1 card show that night.

Thurman was high risk low reward on the one hand but on the other he is a very inexperienced figher and I thought Madaina would win this fight because of that.

ok, i guess its OK for him to duck outta this fight he agreed to.

but i didnt see much sympathy for Gamboa when he pulled out of the Rios fight. which was way more understandable, considering that Gamboa is a featherweight while Rios was damn near a lightweight.

Good decision. This guy is a nobody(as of now), but Rene knows he's still not in his class. This guy had every advantage over Rene, except professional experience. Shows how much Maidana thinks his experience was worth.

They couldn't pay him enough for getting knocked out-well, soundly beaten, at least- this time.

I've gotta agree with this, there's a real delusion about slick fighters being the sole definition of a boxer when in fact guys like Ricardo Lopez are far superior technically. But whatever, alot of these guys just copying the slick style are an accident waiting to happen imo, take Kid Galahad for example. we need more Mikey Garcias in the sport imo, I see alot of kids in my gym attempting a whitaker and getting caught with ridiculous shots.

I agree that you can still be a HELL of a boxer without being slick. . . And a technical puncher, like Matthysse, can beat the slickest of boxers. . It's not always a given that slickness = greatness. . . But when true slickness is exhibited at the world class level, it's a thing of beauty, and usually has an advantage over a guy without the slickness. . . But not always. . .

Slickness can only be executed by those on the world class level by a select few. . . It should not be attempted by everybody. . .

Mayweather has never pulled out of a fight two weeks beforehand. . . because he suddenly had an epiphany he might get KTFO'd or something. . .

But I've given Floyd some **** before (probably a little unnecessarily), and that's why im giving maidana ****. . .
