This would be a half decent scrap, better than Mc-Prescott IMO. Maidana is basic but effective with his power. But Dudey is awkward as ****, and probably nicks a decision

    :rofl:rofl

    This News is so old.

    Note, BEFORE.

Amir couldn't and wasn't going to fight or train between August 1st-30th - Why? Ramadan.

So, if Amir didn't fight in July, he would be fighting in December, leaving him with ONLY 2 fights this year, again.

Maidana wanted to fight in August, which Amir couldn't do, so Maidana's **** of a Manager went on to say that they begged them, which is absolute bull****.

    **** article, by the way.

khan wrote a letter to the WBA asking them for an extension to the time limit in which he has to fight the mandotary, which at the time which he sent the letter was maidana. on july 23rd, if khan did not send the letter, it would have been khan vs maidana, which was always going to be a better fight than judah.

Yes, asking for an extension, not begging them to not fight Maidana.

Maidana wanted to fight in August. Khan could not fight and later than July.

Maidana's date was in August, so no it would not have been, and I remember Maidana saying he would have needed more time for preparation.

Better fight in the sense that we would enjoy it more? Yeah, but why would they go for that? Makes no sense in moving Khan forward and fighting Judah gives him another title and puts him arguably at #1, which it did.

As far as I care, he's past the Maidana hurdle, and Maidana brings nothing, apart from a good fight to the table.

It's a silly arguement really. Khan not only beat Maidana, he also inches him down and take his best shot. What does a rematch prove?

I would love to see a rematch but end of the day Khan won and is entitled to move on. He's done no wrong from my POV..

Brings enough to knock him out, which is all he needs.

And I wouldn't say Khan got 'past the Maidana hurdle', more like he knocked all the hurdles over before crossing the finishing line.

 You DO accept tho that the moral of the story here is that Amir is desparate NOT go through another life and death war with Maidana again...whom he was nearly stopped by and won by the very skin of his ****ing teeth

guerrero's HBO date was in august not maidana's. maidana was able to fight from mid july onwards. he was free for the july 23rd date and was ready to fight then.

judah on paper was the better fight, you get a belt, but if you want to be the P4P best fighter on the planet and maidana is a better fighter than judah so to become the best you fight the better opposition rather than someone with a paper belt, the only 2 titles that mean anything in the boxing world is the ring title and the P4P title. imagine if khan KO'd maidana in 5 rounds rather than judah, now that would be impressive. the whole world had seen judah quit, get knocked out, and dissapoint before so khan finishing him early was nothing new.

    Which is all he needs?

    Er no, I don't.

Maidana being a better fighter doesn't mean Khan would have been proclaimed as a better fighter at all. It would put him in exactly the same position. People expected Khan to beat Maidana, and it would be the exact same again.

There was actually a big contingent that thought Judah would beat Khan.

To be honest, it wouldn't, seeing as how Morales did alright with Maidana, despite losing.

People really don't care. Judah was a name, and even some respects analysts had given Judah a chance. Judah was a big name and holding a belt. Perfect fighter to fight at the time.

The only people that would have given a **** about that fight is people who just want to see a good fight, but it wouldn't have changed their estimations on where the fighter ranked.

If Amir is so reluctant on becoming P4P, then he has to move forward. Not fight just because a minor amount of people want to see a good fight again.

I see no point in it, and I'm pretty certain Maidana was not able to fight on July 23rd.
