It wasn't a controversial win by Khan. He beat him fair and square. If they both keep winning then they will meet again down the line but there are plenty of opponents for both of them just now. I expect to see Ortiz Maidana II before I see Khan Maidana II.

    Are you kidding?

I don't know if you've seen Peterson, but he is pretty good & he's his Mandatory.

I don't know how you can possibly call that protecting. He should fight Morales, but not Peterson? :huh

Morales doesn't want to, Bradley's screwed, Matthysse is title-less, and won't fight till the end of the year.

Peterson is the perfect fight, albeit not the most exciting fight to get excited about, but there is absolutely no way you can call it a ***** move.

Prescott is a much better, more relevant fight. I highly doubt Petersons future will affect Khans legacy. I guess it will just be a decent win. A Prescott win in England means alot. He avenges a loss and gets alot of mainstream fans back on board. In my office, people hate Khan and all they remember/know is him being sparked in 1 minute.

Why should Khan fight Maidana but Maidana won't step in against Morales.

I dont see why Khan should fight Maidana, he beat him fair and square, took his best shots and won clearly.

Having said that, I too am in the minority of people who like to see entertaining fights.

Would Khan step in against Morales at just over a week's notice?

I don't think so. The point is irrelevant.

He is good and he might be better than he currently seems but he is not a big fight or a champ. It's about levels and there is no significance in it. It's already a crime that Peterson is on a 1 win streak and it gets him a title shot. No one has to earn title shots now adays.

Peterson isn't protecting in the same sense as a journeyman. I say it in the sense that in Khan we are discussing a unified champ talking about P4P honours. The criteria for them is no longer the same as a titlist fighting good fights.

***** move is harsh but it has no significance, Prescott does. Suddenly Khan wants Prescott to have credibility but he'll face a bogus defence in McCloskey.

Maidana is in training and has a fight lined up. He was training hard as he was set to fight Guerrero. Different situation. Maidana is also lower down the pecking order and still fighting his way to the very top so an opportunity to unify is big! Beating Morales for the WBC and being the normal WBA champ, gets him the Khan fight or confirms he is ducking the rematch. Alternatively, Maidana can keep talking himself into a big money rematch.

    Peterson >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Prescott

So it would do Khan's P4P aspirations more good if he fought Prescott instead?

    :huh
