Maidana challenges Khan to a Winner-Take-All fight.

Khan is guaranteed a minimum 1.25million PURSE by GBP.

This is where the 1million that Maidana is asking for comes from. 1.25million is 55% of 2.27 million, 45% of which is 1 million.

The problem is that HBO have offered 2million, which includes costs of staging the event. So the only option is to reduce the size of the pot... which Khan will not accept after already taking a cut for the Malignaggi fight.

So it's stuck in a rut. Khan believes Maidana should take less than his 45% entitlement.. which isn't going to happen as its like giving away money.

So it's probably going to go to purse bids, which will enforce the 55-45 split percentage, but the winning bid will not be a 2.27million purse in this economic climate. So either way Khan will not get his 1.25 for this fight.

I could be said that Khan's being greedy etc, refusing to take a cut and demanding Maidana gives up his entitlement, but I guess the real culprit behind it is GBP is screwing up in giving him that purse gaurantee and expecting HBO to come up with the money each time

Con boy is a fraud and a joke.

 

I guess Con boy turned this one down!!! Con boy does not want to fight, which is why they have been low-balling Maidana into taking like 25% and fight in Khan's backyard! Now Maidana called Con's bluff and sent it to purse bids! (even though Con said they couldn't go to purse bids the other day!).

Now Con is backed into a corner! Will he man up and fight? Dragged kicking and screaming into the ring? Will he pay Maidana to go away again? Will he vacate? These are desperate times for Team Con!

 

winner takes all is a silly challenge that im pretty sure no current champ would take.

lets see how the purse bids play out.

if no-one challenges gbp, they might lowball both fighters. like what happened when glen johnson and yusef mak fought in a title eliminator.
