Even if Floyd is ranked above Pacquiao all-time it won't be by much. Mark my words. If they fight each other (big if) and it's a very close fight either way that will make me even more confident that they will go down close to one another. If Floyd dominates him he will go down about 10-15 slots above him. The problem is, Floyd has never had any real desire to face him and will only do so if Showtime puts a gun to his head.

True, but that is more of a case of Floyd's risk adverse/conservative style of fighting along with his discipline outside the ring than anything else. For his age, however, I give him credit for being able to fight at such a high level. He clearly is heading downhill now but he maintained a very high level of fighting deep into his 30's and is still P4P #1 which might be a record for his age. If Ward were to come back in early 2015 and beat a guy like say GGG or Kovalev (if he beats Hopkins) I would rank Ward #1.

Floyd was 37 fighting chino, srl was done and years early got destroyed by an old Camacho. hearns was getting ko'd at 37 and duran was barley above a .500 fighter around floyds age.

its all relative, you can pick any athlete apart to fit any agenda

    Nope . Not even then

They can put a rifle to Floyd's head .

    It still won't happen

Nothing in this world will get Floyd into the same ring with Manny .

I've have learn this a long time ago already .

The fight will never happen .

People need to accept this and live with it already .

Were not going to see it . PERIOD

I gotta be honest. I don't think it will even if I think it should. But you're right he's not going to be too much higher than Pacquaio on the ATG list.

Manny and Floyd are neck and neck right now; Mayweather was ahead since Pac was put to sleep brutally, but Floyd's lackluster bouts with Maidana, draw or Floyd up by 1-2 rounds 1st fight and barely doing enough to win the 2nd. Pac decisively beating Bradley had him gain ground on my rankings while Floyd has fallen a tiny bit. Again, they're even. For now.

Floyd has 3 fights at most left, he wants to retire at 50-0, problem is the competition for him to cherrypick from is slim. Not many low-risk high-reward prospects. I suspect he won't jump in standings unless he grows huge balls and takes a risky fight. Only hope is an exciting fight #50, but Floyd wants to secure that 50th win not his legacy.

Manny probably has twice as many fights left as Floyd. He has always been the more active fighter, but he's more battle worn because of it. Macau money speaks loudly and if he fights there exclusively as a guaranteed draw I wouldn't be surprised if he was getting extra $$$ under the table, this is China not the US. More fights means more risk in another loss, but taking more dangerous wins will add to his legacy. Secure some wins over high ranked WW's and finish off with a legitimate 160 title would skyrocket his standings, and he's just brave enough to do it.

Either way, their careers aren't finished yet and their place in history won't be solidified until most of us are in our golden years.
