    Maidana will beat him IMO.

Maidana just absorbed the hype that surrounded Ortiz when he beat him. Don't rate him all that much TBH.

Me neither, but I rate Guerrero less.

Ah yes, was it you that was certain Katsidis would positively blow him out?

Not sold on him either, more proven than Maidana though, just a matter of the weight that makes it close.

But he completely nullified Katsidis who is a better style of pressure fighter than Maidana albeit at a lighter weight.

I think the styles favour Guerrero, you know exactly what Maidana is bringing to the table and Guerrero has shown he can deal with that kind of fighter.

If Maidana has learned to cut off the ring effectively and apply his strength then he could do some damage, but I can't see it.

Yep. I was impressed with Guerreros ability to keep it at his range. Nice selection of shots as well.

I reckon Maidana has heavier hands though. And I think his more awkward style of pressure will be harder to gauge than Katsidis' slicker movements into punching range. Maidana will rough him up I feel, and Guerrero will struggle to get his respect down the stretch.

Guerrero throws fast, straight combos, but despite pummeling Katsidis for 12 rounds couldn't shift him.

It was his performance against Casa that really irked me. Guerrero just doesn't seem that dangerous a fighter. A tidy operator at mid-range, yes, but I just sense an air of vulnerability about him. Klassen, Escebedo, Casamayor, Katsidis and Litzau is all good, don't get me wrong. But I've never been wowed by him. Good, yes, but I can't see him continuing to do what he's doing without reproach.

    Fights of his I've seen

-Litzau-Never rated him. Still haven't seen Caba fight but susbsequent showing against Broner suggests to me Casa didn't put much thought into it if he couldn't put this punk away. Regarded as a glass chinned 'soft' opponent going into fight IIRC.
-Salido-Entertaining scrap. Guerrero nothing like he is now IMO
    -Yordan-Cop-out against a tougher-than-expected opponent.
-Casamayor-Too laid back, hurt late on in the fight by a class, but way past his best opponent.
-Katsidis-Good showing against no.2/3 at 135lbs here. Surprised he couldn't finish Kats, admittedly tough, with what he laid on him. These things happen, and he does have accurate enough shots that if he picks his spots correctly he can take Maidana out.

Just not bowled over I'm afraid. He looks dodgy in close as times, and I think he's bothered by pressure. Someone who can get him out of his comfort zone will make him unravel IMO. I think it was the Salido fight that showed him he should keep it at mid-range (although Salido was found to be on summat afterwards and it was turned to an NC) and it's clear to me Guerrero is a fair more capable operator at range and calculated then bombing away. As I say, Maidana is decent enough to do what I felt Katsidis could, despite Katsidis being more refined, Maidana is a bigger guy than Guerrero has fought before and I reckon he has enough power in his heavy hands to do damage to Guerrero when he hits him, which, barring an early blowout (unlikely, Guerrero couldn't shift Katsidis despite constant accurate bombing through a punishing 12-round beat down, I know Katsidis is tough, but Maidana is once he warms up, he can be buzzed, but is hard to finish)

If Guerrero wins with the same tactics against Katsidis, which is completely feasible, fair play. But I'd actually like to see him stick around a division long enough to fight a top fighter, not another contender and then move up again.

sad sad news. hopefully guerrero has a big fight at 135 and Maidana fights a legit fighter at 140, maybe Alexander.

Maidana would have to KO Alexander, he is completely unbeatable over the 12 round distance.
