Maidana Highlight reel

Great vid, really cool of Marcos to share it.

These highlights make me notice even more little subtle things Maidana does to compensate for his lack of skill.

:44 I like how Maidana feints multiple jabs to get the opponent to lower his head into the right hand.

:54 shows good combination punching with the same hand, something you rarely see these days. At 1:44 I like the slip-overhand right combo.

2:55 Right after Cortez separates them, Maidana does a little dip, seemingly feinting the right hand, and surprises with a leaping left hook from out of range.

4:15 shows the waist movement he's been trying to get back to lately, dodges 3 consecutive quick shots from Victor. The feint he pulls before setting off the right at 4:23 was also real clever.

Interesting at 5:10 how Maidana sets up the knockdown by mixing a jab in the middle of the initial combo, also not seen much anymore.
