Maidana - how did he recover from that liver shot Khan landed?

Every time body shots get brought up for discussion I think of Maidana every damn time. I have no idea how he even got up, I don't think the end of the round even mattered, just the fact he got up when he's clearly in a tremendous amount of pain.

 

Regardless of how long was left in the round, I was just impressed Maidana even had enough left to rise to his feet and carry on fighting. I think it speaks volumes for what kind of character and fighter he is.

 

Its because of Khans chin that maidana got up

Its amazing, according to some Khan has NO power and NO chin,and has terrible ring IQ.

Its surprising how little you need to rise to the top of boxing these days isnt it?

 

A) it was at the end of the round

B) it was in the first round so maidana want tired

i dont think because it was end of round that his credit should be taken away. maidana got up from a massive body shot end of story. credit to his guts and will

 

1st round. He wasn't softened up first, still had a lot of strength left. That said, it was a vicious shot and I was very surprised he got up. Especially if watch the replay, his face crumbles in PAIN.

I haven't watched the fight in a while, did Khan ignore the body for the rest of the fight?

 

Yeah, that looked like it really hurt him. His face contorted in pain and he rolled over on the canvas clutching his side. No idea how he got up. Not only that, but he then almost won the fight in the tenth round. I actually wonder if some other referees might have stopped it in that round, because Maidana gave Khan a real beating and punched him all over the ring. Khan looked like his legs were almost completely gone. Khan also deserves credit for taking that sustained beating and staying upright.

 

Nope, Khan continued to land great body shots throughout the find. Maidana just steeled himself the rest of the way.
