Mayweather at 48-0 fighting Pac as his last fight ever to equal Marciano's record would be pretty epic.

Mayweather's most likely going for Khan next to look better in the ring after the bad experience against Maidana. A rematch with Maidana would be pointless because the result will be the same.

Well Khan can't fight until November apparently, and the last time Floyd fought that late in the year was vs Hatton. I think people want to see a Maidana rematch because it was exciting and close. I don't think a rematch would be pointless, it would be interesting to see if Maidana could improve on his performance in the 1st half of the fight. If not Khan next, who would you like to see him fight?

If not Khan then definitely Maidana since there's no one else worth considering. I promise you that Maidana won't change anything, he will come fighting the way he did in the first fight. That's how he fought his entire career only now he's better on his feet and calculates his aggression well thanks to his new trainer Garcia. If they can improve his stamina, which I highly doubt, then he can win the rematch if Mayweather shows up overwhelmed and backing off again. However, I expect Mayweather to adjust in the rematch and not allow Maidana to look as good as he did. Mayweather isn't the type of fighter you would like to rematch after failing in your first try because he's surely coming fully adjusted and ready for everything you're going to do and we all know what Maidana is going to do.

Regarding Mayweather's "Final 3", it seems that most of the fights being suggested would be at 147 and not 154. Wouldn't he have to have a mandatory 154 fight if he is technically the linear jr middleweight champ?

Unless he vacates that title. Personally, I would like to see Mayweather - Canelo II at 154, but I understand that most people probably would rather see Floyd fight someone else.

However Canelo has a tough fight with Lara in July and that I'd imagine a Maidana rematch in September is probably the most likely fight given that timetable. I personally don't think Floyd will ever fight Pacquiao, so I could see Maidana II and then Khan next May and maybe a last hurrah at 154 next September, possibly Canelo or someone else. But we'll see.

The other thing is 3 more fights, and 3 more wins would put Floyd squarely at 49-0. You've got to imagine if he got that far undefeated, which is a big IF he would probably like to finish 50-0.

    Yep

If that happens it'll be likely in late 2015 or 2016, about 6-7 years too late.
