Khan took his one tough fight, now he'll coast for a while. I highly doubt he'll fight the winner of Saturday night's fight; he'll stick with the "he wanted too much money" excuse and fight Euro bums in London like Calslappy.

    How did Cortez save him?

Khan was hurt, his legs wobbly but he still knew where he was... He could still, albeit barely move about... And sort of defend himself... He wasn't just on the ropes for that round or getting dropped multiple times either...

I think someone lost a bet.

The angle which we, the viewer, see it on TV, does not allow us to accurately determine whether Khan landed those shots or not. Khan has his back to us, and the combination he throws is blocked from our sight.

But if you watch carefully, you'll notice it may have indeed been the correct decision to not rule it a knockdown. As Maidana was coming in, his right foot trips over Khan's left foot, which sends him off balance.

Seeing as though we can clearly see a trip, but not a landed combination from Khan, I think it's safe to rule it not a knockdown. Unless we have a different angle of the incident?

He lost 114-111 on two judges cards and according to Steve Cofield of Yahoo Sports Cortez saved Maidana another point by not ruling a knockdown.

Do people forget that Khan actually won the fight, does not matter how you win, a wins a win. Is there anyone out there that thinks Khan lost on points, or that the point deduction (for pratically elbowing the ref) was not called for?

Having said that i doubt Khan will EVER fight Maidana again. Way too dangerous a fight and not really a smart move to further his career. He took the calculated gamble (which almost didnt pay off) so why take it again?

After a fight like that Khan needs an easy opponent followed by winner of alexander bradely. He took a beating in that fight and needs to let his body heal.

Would love to see a rematch and would go and see it live. I expect Khan to win comfortably in the rematch, maybe even stopping Maidana. Khan won't have anything to prove and he'll just box smart.

Maidana needs to STFU and stop being so ****ing bitter.

He got a lot of peoples respect that night in the ring but hes acting like a ***** since then.

its DONE. this fool was LUCKy the bell saved his ass in the first round, else he would have had an EMBARASSING KO1 on his record

    Be classy

You may as well add the knock-down while you're at it. And the 5 or so rounds that followed. As well as the 8 and 9 where he was being outboxed. If those didn't happen, Maidana would have won! :deal

Don't know why Maidana is getting trashed. He has a right to run his mouth a bit considering the efforts he's given in the ring, particularly against Ortiz and Khan. As if Khan doesn't do some trash talking himself! Take the point deduction away and Maidana-Khan could've been a draw or possibly a narrow decision in favor of Maidana so it's not like the Argentinian doesn't have a good reason to speak out passionately. One thing's for sure, you can't deny his desire to win and to challenge some of the best.
