Maidana might be all wrong for a 37 Year Old Floyd.

I thought Maidana looping right hand might do well against the shoulder roll but I didn't think in a million years that this fight would be this competitive and Maidana would win more than 2-3 rounds.

 

Good call. Maidana made Floyd look old. I think Floyd's age is causing him to limit his activity and fight in spurts now. Not a good thing vs. a fighter that in essence is a wild pressure fighter. Though Floyd landed FAR more clean shots Maidana was able to surprisingly nullify a lot of his activity with his wormy style in the clinch.

The old adage goes; boxes beats puncher, puncher beats swarmer, swarmer beats boxer. Mayweather is a boxer, Maidana is a swarmer. So it's no surprise that Maidana was able to give Mayweather some problems. Maidana fought a great fight. Everyone says you need to attack Mayweather with all out aggression and make it a dirty fight. That's what Maidana did. He was in attack mode all night, and committed numerous fouls. Credit to both guys. That was an excellent fight.
