Some people keep focusing on the fact that Maidana owned a guy that was all reputation and has looked terrible at WW. Broner skips over 140 so he can fight the easiest champion available within 3 divisions and barely wins so Maidana beating him is supposed to be significant.

Khan is a di*khead but his resume isn't much worse than Maidana. For some reason people can't see Khans stlye makes for a more competitive fight.

It might be more competitive from the standpoint that Khan might win some early rounds, but while Floyd shouldn't be fighting either, Maidana has at least a puncher's chance of winning and will likely have that chance all twelve rounds(even though the fight screams Floyd shutout). The only chance Khan would have is a fluke injury or Floyd ages very dramatically overnight, he doesn't possess a chin or the pop to even have the puncher's chance as a factor.

Maidana has also done a lot more lately to deserve the fight than Khan, regardless of overall resume. Khan has not looked good for almost two years now, and his last fight against Diaz it appeared his resistance and ability were at an all-time low.

 

What has Pacquiao done lately to deserve a fight? Lose to timothy Bradley? Get Knocked out by Marquez? Go the distance with a blownup lightweight coming off a loss??
