Maidana: Now I’m ready for Bradley
Abregú too, if he beats Bradley
After recent serious managerial problems have prevented him from continuing with his career smoothly as it should have happened, WBA Interim Super Lightweight champion Marcos Maidana is now ready to be back in the US against the best. “Now everybody knows what the reasons were for me to turn down a fight with Timothy Bradley. And luckily, everybody understood me. I’m on the way to sort out this unexpected and disgraceful situation, so I’m very happy and ready to prove wrong those idiots that called me a chicken or a liar,” Maidana said.
“Let’s see how brave they are now they know that I’m ready. Bring me Bradley and I’ll knock him out in front of his promoter Gary Shaw, who seems to have a big mouth. I’m not the kind of guy that likes to talk. I never do. But now I’m angry because they blamed me for not taking the fight against Bradley even though it was not my fault. Let’s make the Bradley fight before the end of this year to put an end to all this talking crap,” he added.
However, in order for the Bradley vs. Maidana showdown to happen, the WBO Super Lightweight champion Bradley should first overcome his next challenge, as he is scheduled to face Argentinean Carlos Luis Abregú on July 17.
“I’ve read some comments that my fellow countryman Abregú made over me yesterday. If those comments are true, they make me laugh. To call me a disgrace for the Argentinean boxing is a very ugly attitude, a low blow,” Maidana commented.
“It seems to me that Abregú is not able to make a name for himself by fighting. Who has he fought so far anyway? So he tries to embarrass me in an attempt to attract the attention he cannot by only fighting. He is about to engage in his first real fight and he is already talking like that about a fellow countryman? Come on, Abregú, don’t be such a terrible colleague. You know what I have been through. Or are you Gary Shaw’s puppet and he is making you say things that you may regret? If you are for real you beat Bradley on July 17 and then I’ll be more than happy to settle things with you in the ring next,” Maidana said.

How can anybody not like Maidana? And he's right about Abregu. Abregu is a nobody that beat only bum fighters. Abregu is about to get his ass whooped by Bradley.

So if Maidana gets the same offer he got before to fight Bradley, this time he won't turn it down as being 'not enough money'?

Put in his place? Maidana still hasn't signed to fight anyone. And he did say it was his back twice before he came out with it was his manager.

I think boxing fans just pick guys they want to like, and guys they don't, and act like the biggest hypocrites in the world from that point on.

I'm certainly no Khan fan, and I'm not even a Maidana hater. I liked it when he beat Ortiz. But there's no way in the world Khan gets this kind of love after giving three different excuses for backing out of two different fights.

Love that quote. I'm a big fan of Maidana. Win or lose the man goes all out and usually comes away with the KO. Go big or go home is his attitude and I respect that.

It was his manager that say everything with his back and blah blah blah bs. Real boxing fans knows that most of the time managers or promoters are the ones that trying to screw their fighters.
