[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Once again, as it has happened in the last few weeks, the highly anticipated fight between WBA Super Lightweight champions Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana has been bombarded by the British fighter, who keeps saying Maidana is asking for too much money. El Chino decided to answer Khan Team by telling them “don’t stick your nose where it shouldn’t be. My payday for that fight is out of your business. Just focus on your preparation and let’s meet December 11.”
“It’s ridiculous. Instead of be willing for this fight to finally happen, in the last few weeks Amir Khan has seemed to be more focused on how much I should earn. Who this guy thinks he is? He thinks he makes the rules of boxing. First, he ran scared from me during almost one year. Now he wants to be the one setting when and where we face each other. Not only that, he wants to determine what my payday should be!,” Maidana said.
“Khan should take his big nose off my own negotiations with Golden Boy Promotions and concentrate on the fight. Of course I won’t take short money for this bout since it’s a big fight. But I make it clear that I’m not overpricing myself at all since I badly want Khan next December 11,” the Argentinean added.

He's the bigger draw, Maidana. He's also the full champion. No wonder some of my South American mates hate Argies. They think too highly of themselves even when they don't deserve it.

thing is we keep hearing khans team saying chino is pricing himself out of the fight but we never ever hear them say how muh he's asking for. maidana is right its not khans job to sort out who gets paid wat its the promoters all khan should worry about is wat he's getting end of the story

as long as he gets wat he's asking for who cares wat maidana gets its none of your buissiness

To add to this though, I do believe Khan considers himself co-promoted of sorts
His contract with GBP is not a clear cut as a normal fighters situation. He has his own promotions company I believe, of which he's a part of and works in association with GBP. However Maidana's point is still valid in that his promoter is GBP, and not Team Khan promotions

If Maidana is so sure he's going to spark out Khan then he can damn well sign the paperwork. He's a contender not a champion. He's not the draw. He's getting the biggest payday of his life. SIGN.

May be because he cant get what he is asking for because maidana is asking for too much considering the maximum pot is 2 million dollors.

I thought this was taken care of. W/ 2 mil on the table, Maidana will get his highest pay day, but @ the end of the day Khan should just shut up & get ready for his toughest opponent thus far.

Team Con and GBP are obviously low-balling Maidana. They don't want it. :deal:deal:deal

nah, 2 million has been offered for the fight. khan is guaranteed 1.2. maidana gets 800k, which is more than double his biggest pay to date, and will also be a pretty reasonable split.

maidana needs to man up and sign

According to WBA regulations Maidana, the interim champ, should get 45% of the purse which is $900,000. He should just take that much and prove himself vs. Khan in the ring.

This should go to purse bids if they can't agree since Maidana is the mandatory now.
