    They forgot this part:

    Lightweight titleholder Humberto Soto,

with the company is expired, has declared himself a free agent, attorney and co-manager Michael Miller told ESPN.com.

Top Rank announced in February that Soto (55-7-2, 33 KOs), of Mexico, would face Urbano Antillon (28-2, 20 KOs) in a rematch of the 2010 ESPN.com fight of the year on the Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley Showtime PPV undercard on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Miller, however, said Soto never signed a contract for the fight and would not participate in the bout.

"We are no longer with Top Rank and he is not fighting Antillon for sure," Miller said. "We'll go out and find out if any other promoter is interested in signing him. We'll start on that next week and see if Gary [Shaw], Lou [DiBella], Golden Boy, and anyone else, might be interested in making a bid for the guy.

    . I don't know why we wouldn't."

Miller said Soto and co-manager Antonio Lozada have been unhappy with his promotional agreement for some time and hired him last week as a co-manager and as an attorney to look at his contract.

Miller said there were several issues, including that Soto had been told the contract expired in October, even though Miller said he believed the deal had expired in 2009.

Miller said another serious issue was that even though the promotional contract was with Bob Arum's Top Rank, he was being paid -- and shorted -- by Zanfer Promotions' Fernando Beltran, who works closely with Top Rank on numerous fighters.

Our quick and dirty numbers are that

compared to the minimums they owed him for something like 10 or 11 fights.

He would complain. He was pissed. He was told they would make it up. And because he was shorted, that means Lozada is owed about $425,000."

Miller said Soto continued to fight because he needed the money he was getting and because he was hopeful that he would receive what he was owed.

Soto won a junior lightweight title in December 2008 and defended it three times. In March 2010, he outpointed former titlist David Diaz on the Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey undercard to win a vacant lightweight title, which he has defended three times, including the epic battle with Antillon on Dec. 4. He also fought some nontitle bouts.

"I wrote Top Rank a letter [Wednesday] advising that he has been grossly underpaid and we need some answers," Miller said. "Why was Beltran involved since Soto never signed a contract with Beltran?"

Top Rank president Todd duBoef said he was still gathering information about the situation, but said he had not been notified by the fighter or Lozada of any problem.

"I'm trying to get as much information as possible," he said. "I'm reaching out to them. All I hear is stuff from other people. Right now, our primary issue is is the Soto-Antillon rematch happening? There is a high probability that it is not. If that's the case, we will make adjustments."

DuBoef said Top Rank was looking to put together a replacement fight on short notice to beef up the Pacquiao-Mosley undercard that takes a big hit by the cancellation of Soto-Antillon II.

"Obviously, the supporting cast is fantastic with the return of [former middleweight champ] Kelly Pavlik and with the Wilfredo Vazquez-[Jorge] Arce [junior featherweight] title fight. We'd like to add something sensational."

DuBoef said that without a rematch against Soto, Antillon likely would challenge Brandon Rios, another of the lightweight titleholders whom Top Rank promotes, on July 9 on Showtime.

"I'd like to do that fight," duBoef said.

This is not the first time Miller and Top Rank have had issues. They are also on opposite sides of the promotional battle over unified bantamweight titleholder Nonito Donaire, who left Top Rank last month to sign with rival promoter Golden Boy, resulting in lawsuits. Donaire claims Top Rank breached his contract and Miller is his attorney.

Soto left TR cause they owe him $1.3 Million NET PAY.
Soto wont fight a TR fighter cause there's a contract dispute with TR.
Until TR pays him the $1.3 million NET PAY they owe him, he wont sign to fight any of their fighters cause it automatically ties him up to TR again.

$1.3 Million NET PAY is alot of money. Thats like $2-3 million GROSS PAY, and thats more than Maidana, Alexendar, Bradley, Guzman, Rios, and anyone else (execpt JMM, and Pac) in the 140lbs division has made recently.

But Soto signed with GBP and was looking to fight Khan, Maidana, Morales, Guerrero, but they're all ducking him now.

The most ducked fighter in history, the GOAT Joto, errr, Soto--ducking the fighter that Bam Bam thrashed in 3?!? Unheard of!

Joto, i meant, Soto is clearly ducking Antillon and was just using his beef with TR as a cover.

Now who's the Duck? The "ducked" that has now been exposed as a ducker, or the one that quacks for a duck? :hey:yep

If Soto had fought Antillon rematch or Rios, it wouldve automatically extended his contract with TR, and TR still wouldnt pay Soto what they owe him.

but signing with GBP gave Soto more money, and was gonna get big fights against Erik Morals, Amir Khan, Marcos Maidana, but they all chickened-out and ducked Soto.

Its obvious who has been exposed as a ducker, and that is :lol:Marcos "El Chicken" Maidana:lol:.

Maidana would rather fight feather-fisted and quitter-Alexander:lol::rofl, than face the brawler-Humberto Soto:

throw this troll on ignore. Its easy if don't know how. Just go to your User CP settings in the top left of the screen. Go to edit ignore list and put his two names(this one and aztecas) on there. It will save you time with not dealing with his trolling.

Hey Aztlan. Where do you rank Humberto on your current p4p list and all-time Mexican warrior list?

If he really is owed that much money and can prove it why doesn't he take them to court. Frank Warr n owed Calzaghe just over a million after Hopkins fight and he took Frank to court and got it back.

Arum, a former US Attorney (for the Kennedy's) has strong connections to the courts/judges and its not easy to beat Arum in court.

but Soto has an attorney and is working something out with Arum.

either way, Soto signing with Golden Boy payed-off cause he got good money from GBP, and signed a multi-fight, multi-year contract with GBP and is looking for the big fights against GBP fighters.

Problem is that the big name GBP fighters are ducking him, just like big name Top Rank fighters were ducking him too.

The only difference is that Soto made good money signing with Golden Boy even though he's avoided by GBP fighters.
With Top Rank, he was being avoided by the big name TR fighters, and was not making much money.

Soto is probably the #2 best fighter p4p right now, caus he scared off Pac, JMM, MAB, EM, Valero, Guerrero, and so many other into not fighting him.

and he's up there above any Mexican in the warrior list, but below JCC.

Maidana shouldn't even have a WBA title. He was given the Interim WBA belt in the fight after losing to Khan for the WBA belt, and one week before Khan defended that belt. Interim belts should only be handed out if a champ is injured and can't defend his belts. Maidana's Interim belt now suddenly has become a full WBA title after Khan was made Super Champ despite Maidana having lost all his title fights.

Wouldn't it be funny if WBA gave the interim belt to Khan instead LOL. He's so stupid he only had to put the IBF title on the line against Peterson and what he did was put both his titles on.

either way, Soto challenged both Khan and Maidana for the WBA belt, after WBC Champ-Morales ducked Soto and refuses to defend his WBC belt against Soto, cause Soto has picked up 3 WBC belts in 3 different weight classes, but since Morales wont fight Soto (cause Morales is afraid of Soto's power:D), Soto is going after the WBA belt, but neither Khan or Maidana wanted to defend the WBA belt against Soto, and I strongly doubt that Lamont would want to defend his new title against Soto, especially since his brother (Anthony Peterson) ducked Soto a couple years ago.

Soto has scared off many champions into not fighting him.
