No fighter has had any success forcing floyd to fight inside. The Refs WILL NOT ALLOW IT, unless it becomes to floyds advantage. He is one of the most protected fighters in the past 50 years.
Protected, this joker madaina was nearly torn in half by a khan body punch! floyd, will humiliate this guy with ease.
That's his only chance to make it close and possibly win. By dirty I mean make the fight ugly, constantly be in Mayweather's face, throw punches from odd angles, push, hold and drive Mayweather out of his rhythm. If he stands and poses in the middle of the ring he's as good as Baldomir, Alvarez, Ortiz, Guerrero...etc
If Maidana fights dirty so will Floyd. Floyd ain't Broner. Broner tried to show that he could take Maidana's shots. Floyd will not be in the area code when Maidana tries to land, and Floyd will hit Maidana at will. Maidana is inferior to Floyd in every way. He isn't even close to being stronger than Floyd.
Ohh the hate is strong with this one. Don't wish foul techniques to be used against the p4p#1 boxer in the world. You just want to see him lose. Hater
Agreed 100%, this is perfect strategy for Maidana. Worst case, what, he gets disqualified...and in losing that way gets to avoid giving Mayweather the satisfaction of shutting him out? :conf Subtle but persistent and mean-spirited roughhousing is his best and maybe only shot. The orthodoxy of pressure fighting has failed time and time again. Looking to outbox Mayweather is a fool's errand for even a master boxer, which of course Maidana will never be. Any 'blueprint' falling within the rules can be torn up, because Mayweather has more or less perfected the art of getting the W inside the framework of the rules (though he does bend them himself, with the same deft artistry he executes his cleaner work, flirting with the line but never crossing it enough to get penalized...) and so has seen it all before and dealt with it all before. His feathers can be ruffled by dirty **** - see Ortiz. Maidana would of course need to be smarter about it...no flagrant rocket-launching headbutts, and certainly no 'ceremony of apology'...just nip-and-tuck little fouls here and there, feeling out the leeway given or notice taken by the ref, increasing the raw physicality gradually over the course of the night, and just making it resemble as little as possible the kind of 'civilized' boxing match that Mayweather trains himself impeccably to get the W.
Roberto Duran didn't need to foul Leonard at all. At least Leonard never complained about any. You have to be able to fight flat footed, and you have to not worry about Floyd's counters. You have to have talent, and have a good defense to beat Floyd. You also have to be able box a lil bit too. That allows you to force your way inside on Floyd. The only guy who really landed good shots on Floyd was Emmanuel Augustus. Floyd has faced every type of rough housing tactic there is. He's faced guys who butted, threw low blows, attempted to kidney punch, hold and hit etc etc. Maidana's only chance is to rabbit punch. That hasn't been tried on Floyd yet.
He'll fight dirty anyway. Maidana uses dirty tactics, as does Floyd. Lots of fighters do. Some just use them more, and some use different types. Maidana rabbit punches, uses elbows too. Floyd uses elbows and forearms, he was using in the inside of his glove in Canelo's face when Canelo responded with a low blow. They both do unsportsman-like (but legal) things like hit guys when they are offering to touch gloves. If they fight, I expect to see both guys use illegal tactics at times. Even the "cleaner" fighters throughout history have had their moments when they were.
Augustus and Chavez were the only two fighters who gave Floyd fits in the ring. Carlos Hernandez did ok too.
You are really dumb....you said Broner had a rematch set up with Maidana:rofl Look at your dumb...a...SS Uncle Roger tell this fool.....YDKSAB  :smoke
how many uperrcuts did chavez & burton eat again? you forget that keyboard warriors! they will pay for those blows in later life folks!
:good I see you know your boxing. I said it all along after Broner fight, Garcia has actually turned Marcos into a smart brawler
No...FLoyd invites fighters in quite a bit. Maidana wouldn't have to try and force Floyd to be close...because Floyd would feel like he could counter him and outbox him on the inside, too. But if Floyd wants to start using them elbows once they get tied up, then Maidana should let him know that he's not taking any of that crap.
