Bayless didn't change the outcome of the second fight, Maidana did. Outside of Floyd adjusting to an opponent, Maidana came in more tenative, clearly not wanting to dump everything he had in the early rounds getting at Floyd when he's at his weakest. Turns out, jumping on Floyd early is the only way to get success.

Also, Floyd clearly was in the mindset of "I can stand on the ropes, this guy ain't ****" in the first fight, whereas he got out the big boy shoes in the rematch, as he did with Canelo. Sucks that Maidana couldn't replicate his success.

Fight 2 Floyd hired Bayless to stop Maidana fighting his fight just like Joe Cortez did in Mayweather-Hatton. Bayless was like an old Mother Hen protecting her chick it was CRIMINAL!!

The way Maidana timed Floyd's pull counter repeatedly was beautiful.

 

the first fight the ref did NOTHING he simply did not do enough to detract both guys from dirty tactics even ones as blatent as muay thai knees from maidana...

second fight bayless was to involved and broke clenches fairly early

both were on the opposite ends of their respective extremes of getting to involved and not getting involved enough

but 2nd fight was better

 

There was a lot of stray elbows thrown by Maidana in the first couple rounds of the 1st fight. I think it was because of that fact - that it was over refereed the second time round.

 

So let's see according to this forum Floyd is a cheat but Maidana, Margarito, and #48 ar not....Maidana is innocent of illegal punches, gloves, and tactics, Margarito is innocent of using plaster, and Salt Water is ok ducking and dodging OST during the period he was most suspect of using PEDS.

Floyd however rehydrated with a USADA/NSAC approved IV therefore he is a cheater, those other guys actions
are ok though.

 

Also I think training camp went very wrong for Maidana for the 2nd fight.

They chose to lose 10lb so to ''try to match Mayweather's speed''.
LOL Maidana could come in as a lightweight, he still would be slower than Floyd.
So they gave up a weight advantage which helped a lot in the 1st fight to gain nothing basically.

Also Maidana hurt Floyd at the end of 3rd, clearly won the 4th, and then already after 5th started saying to trainer ''I can't do this, I can't do this.'' Clear sign of CNS overload.

 

Weeks let the fighters FIGHT. Bayless ruined the fight.

Whoever mentioned the "Mother Hen" line had it correct. :good
