Margarito's resume is a lot better than Maidana. By more than a little. He's a POS and I doubt Mosley was his first time loading (or trying to load) his gloves, but I really don't think he used it every single time either. Maidana scraped by a badly declined Morales and lost to Alexander and Amir ****ing Khan. Doesn't speak well about his quality as a fighter.
Margo wins easy as fuk in a fight with maidana. They are both good punchers, but margo gets better leverage from his punches and chino will have a hard time getting into the pocket and thats where his journey really ends in a nutshell.
Assuming he only tried to use bricks in his gloves to fight Mosley (Pwahahahaa!! yeah right) Margarito would stop Maidana with body shots... Watch the second Cotto fight, u can see he still had the chin and the stamina to outlast people, if not only the chin, and stamina was/is always Maidana's weakness
But look who he was fighting. Shane Mosley, Manny Pacquiao, and Miguel Cotto. The last of which, Margarito was coming off a serious eye problem, which ended the Cotto fight. Mosley, even at that advanced age, was considerably better than Maidana. Pacquiao is an ATG who was fighting in/near his peak, and Cotto is a very good fighter as well. Maidana is levels below those guys, and Margarito was not in his prime against Pacquiao and Cotto (he was on the tail end of it against Mosley, who was himself farther from his prime than Plasterito).
The corpse of Morales beat Maidana. Maidana is terrible plain and simple. Margarito beat an absolute prime Cotto.
I detest that POS Margarito, but I really don't think he had loaded gloves throughout the 2002-08 period in every single fight. Besides maybe power, what advantage does Maidana have over Margarito?
So because one fighter has fought better opposition he automatically wins any head to head fight? So boone would beat groves. arreola would beat haye. n'dou would beat broner. Variety of opponents holds weight but is not the sole reason behind winning
Margos resume is impressive but just because one fighters resume is better than anothers doesn't automatically grant them a win. Styles make fights. Cintron is a nobody. That win isnt impressive. Beating sergio holds as much weight as Torrecampo beating Pacquiao. Clottey takes bribes. And he cheated for the cotto fight. His resume doesn't look that good if you break it down like that does it?
