Even though Maidana won in the amateurs, Matthysse is a significantly better fighter at this point. Maidana appears to be slowing down and his previous two trainers have had a negative impact on his style.
As much as I like Maidana, Matthysse is on a different level. More powerful, better skilled. I got Matthysse KO in a war.
the biggest showdown in the world would be pacquiao-mayweather the biggest war in the world would be matthysse-maidana I can't think of a bigger war out there. danny garcia hits hard and accurate but doesnt bring the action maidana brings, matthysse is out of disscusion, the the most enteraining. rios or pacquiao vs matthysse would also be a blast, but rios would quickly be TKO'd within 4 rounds and pacquiao is down the road, doesn't have the same aura and energy he used to have.
LM does everything better then Maidana. Also Maidana can be hurt to the body and head while LM has not shown any signs of being hurt. LM- higher workrate, straighter punches, probably hits harder. Sadly we probably won't see it because Maidana seems to be staying at 147 and LM seems to be comfortable at 140 with a few big fights available for him..... Hopefully.
I am a huge maidana fan, and we'll have to see how he looks with Robert Garcia in his corner but honestly at this point I think Matthysse is too strong for Maidana
