It really was, some people will say cowardly but i disagree completely. Maidana needed a win big time after that Awful Devon fight and the Thurman fight would have made no sense at the time if you analyze it like Maidana's team did.

I really don't wanna see Maidana and Thurman at this time because it's too soon. They are the future and I want their resume's to marinate build some drama along with Swift's and Porter's. Between those four gents they should able sharpened their skills with the likes of the Ghost, Josesito, Alexander, Broner, ( if he is dumb enough to stay at welter ) Paulie and the likes. After they clean that up, then they can start on each other. The fights will be awesome. Plus if GBP and TP form a truce, they can raid Top Rank. By the time Mayweather leaves, one of them shoud be ready to take the throne. My money is on Thurman.

Maidana is 30 years old...he's not some kid that needs to marinate.

    C'mon now.

Yeah I hear you but I think he has two more years in him. That's enough time to give me the fights I wanna see from him at the proper time. He won't be the last man standing anyways. By the way,32 used to be old. It's not that way any more unless you Kirkland or Anguello. The man is still growing. His skills are getting better. He's not getting hit like he used to.

It's not cowardly at all. Maidana campaigns at 140/147, isn't a big WW, Thurman at 147/154. Now if Maidana fought crap competition you have a point, but he fought 3 solid fighters. I'd love to see these 2 get it on though, definitely favour Thurman.

Thurman is the better boxer and should win, question is though is he ready for a monster like Maidana yet?

Maidana got hit plenty vs Lopez.

He might not make it past his first defense.

Funny how that only works for certian fighters but for others it's a duck.

Its called context, Maidana had just lost to Devon very badly, why would he fight an unknown KO machine who won fights at 154 when Maidana at the time wasn't even sure he was staying at 147. he got 125K more for fighting on Canelo's under card vs Karras.

Look what has happened since, Maidana and his team made the right decision in a big way career wise and financially. Maidana vs Thurman is now a great fight, in May 2012 it really wasn't, as Thurman hadn't even had a fight on TV. Name me one main event TV fighter who fought a fighter who had never been on TV before?, it doesn't happen. Known fighters fight other known fighters.

If he was to fight someone like Karras next instead of Thurman then you can call it a duck but Maidana is after bigger paydays vs Floyd, maybe even Paulie.

For all the **** you talked about maidana during the pre Maidana vs Broner fight, you don't have a leg to stand on regarding Maidana, you got him and the broner fight totally wrong. Maidana owned Broner in every way psychically and emotionally.

Your opinion on Maidana isn't valid as you don't ****, you said he wouldn't land on broner, you called it a mismatch.
