Who do you recognize as having a more legit claim to the WBA title Maidana who beat Ortiz for his interim title or Khan who fought ***an who was 22-5?

In my opinion Khan is ducking Maidana.

Maidana is the "real" champ. Khan also ducked him.

    I voted Khan.

I hope Timothy Bradley knocks out Maidiana, making him super champion.

Khan ducked Bradley a little bit. I will give you that. Khan said he wasn't ready to fight Bradley.

But Khan has never ducked Maidana the pre madona!

Maidana that fought Gonzalez who was 22-5-1 or Khan who beat Kotelnik for the real WBA title? The same Kotelnik that beat Maidana the fight before he lost to Khan.:patsch

Come on you are really goin mention the ***an fight that was almost 2 years ago and at LIGHTWEIGHT like what that matters?

Khan/***an was for the WBA International title at Lightweight, you spaz.

Khan won the WBA World title at light welterweight by beating Kotelnik. So your question should be 'who do you recognise as having a more legit claim to the WBA title, Maidana who lost to the champion Kotelnik, or Khan who beat him?'.

And not sure how Khan can be 'ducking' Maidana when Maidana has never offered Khan a fight, doesn't even mention his name and actually signed a contract with his promoters to keep himself away from Khan.

Maidana I believe deserves to be considered the real champ. Amir clearly ducked him, whether it was due to his own cowardice or to GBP influence - probably both. Amir may be the better boxer overall but Maidana is more feared.

When did he clearly duck him? Can you post details of Maidana's offer, or explain why the WBA didn't strip Khan after Maidana (as you infer) enforced his mandatory claim, or even post a quote of Maidana talking about fighting Khan?

The WBA ORDERED that Amir defend his belt against Maidana. Maidana turned down a fight with Devon Alexander to get a match-up with Amir done.

If the WBA ORDERED it then Khan shouldnt have a title right now...... Unless when the WBA orders one of its champions to do something and that champion doesnt do it all the do is express disappointment and let them go on doing whatever they want.

Learn something about what you are talking about before you open your mouth.

    And the link?

It was reported that Maidana had signed a contract with his promoters to keep himself away from Khan. And that was before the mooted Maidana/Alexander fight, so I don't think you have the timeline right. And clearly Maidana hasn't enforced his mandatory status as Khan hasn't been stripped.

So we have Khan who says he'd happily fight Maidana at any time, and Maidana who won't call out Khan, won't enforce his mandatory and has in his contract with his US promoters that he doesn't fight him. In any other circumstances, I doubt you'd say the first was ducking :think

The WBA shouldn't have to order a bout anyway, for the sake of the sport of Boxing the so-called champions should face their mandatories without any outside influence. You want to be considered the best in the world then you should face the best. But noooo, Khan is after the money and the fame.

So far Khan has had one fight as champion and fought one mandatory.

Should boxers fight 'mandatories' every fight 'for the sake of boxing'?

Fairly laughable that you would say something like 'for the sake of boxing' when talking about the WBA and their ludicrous system of super champions, ordinary champions and interim champions. If you were interested in the state of boxing, you would be of the opinion that Maidana should never have been interim champion, because the champion was never injured or inactive.
