do not count out maidana so quickly. unlike mayweathers last few opponents, maidana will be in his prime and have no problem making weight. he has gotten better and grown confidence at 147. this is not the same maidana that lost to khan and alexander.

most people on here think it will be an easy victory for mayweather, but i wouldn't be surprised if maidana pulls off an upset. if anyone can turn it into an ugly brawl it would be maidana.

i can see maidana swinging wildly at mayweather and mayweather using the shell, shoulder and leaning back to avoid the shots and pot shotting all night long but eventually maidana will catch him.

if maidana can connect flush early and often this fight will be interesting, if not it will be a horrible one sided affair.

The only interesting thing will be to see how dirty both of these guys fight.

Mayweather 119-109, 120-108, and 115-113 (maybe CJ Ross will return, or Duane Ford will judge it)

Who has Mayweather fought recently that wasn't in or near his prime?

canelo hasn't reached his prime yet and was weight drained. guerrero and ortiz were jokes, marquez and cotto were already washed up.

i see maidana vs mayweather as a good little guy vs little guy matchup. when was the last time mayweather fought someone his same size at their natural weight?

Mayweather is not unbeatable. it is boxing, the sweet science, and many things favor Mayweather. However, once in the ring, anything can, and sometimes does, happen. pulling for Maidana. A fat tub of lard named Tony Galento almost ko'd Joe Louis. other strange things happen. noone should ever enter the ring thinking they cannot win. if Mayweather is beaten before retirement, it will be by someone that almost everyone on esb says can't win. will and passion, with power, can do a lot sometimes.

What I find worrying from a Maidana point of view is that he called Broner an elite defensive fighter. It makes me think that he thinks he will just have to do the same against Broner as against Mayweather. If he thinks that he will be chasing air and getting pot shot all night.

How do you know Canelo hasn't reached his prime yet? He was the same age as Mayweather was when he fought Corrales. Guerrero and Ortiz were in their primes whether you think they are jokes are not. Cotto was about a year older than Maidana will be in this fight and he was hardly washed up. Marquez clearly wasn't washed up. As far as fighting someone the same size at their natural weight, how do you define natural weight? Because I would argue that Mosely, Ortiz, and Cotto would all fit that criteria. Canelo was 2 pounds below his normal weigh in weight, but he's also a lot heavier than Mayweather.

Exactly. This will not be an "exciting" fight, OP. Floyd will make Maidana look like a slow, lumbering WW who can't land a punch. This event isn't worth the admission price. If we actually want Floyd to pick exciting opponents, we have to speak with our wallets. That's what he'll listen to. I'm not buying it.

Maidana doesn't stand a chance. He is slower and less skilled than Canelo and Guerrero. Floyd will see all of Maidana's punches coming from a mile away. Maidana's slow and lumbering movements will make him an easy target for Floyd. Floyd will run circles around him. Floyd could even via TKO because Maidana is just that slow.

He is not facing 1 dimensional broner idiots! He is facing a man that can outclass him in every facet of the game, unlike that fake wannabe!!

    Watch Alexander Maidana

Then honestly come back here and tell us all how Maidana will make it interesting

lmao. Remember how much better Mayweather is than Alexander as well.

One of the greatest defensive fighters of this era... Maidana only managed to get to Khan in round 10. You think Maidana will get to Mayweather? no.

I love Chino... but this is going to be onesided.

You know how Maidana can prove that he is giving Mayweather even the slightest bit of trouble? If Mayweather resorts to holding...Which he can easily do but doesn't often need to.
