by Rick Reeno Multiple sources have advised ***********.com that WBA interim-junior welterweight champion Marcos Maidana is going through an internal battle with his manager from Argentina, Mario Margossian. The conflict has been brewing behind the scenes for a few weeks. Based on the story going around, Margossian promised Maidana a certain amount of money for a fight with WBO junior welterweight Timothy Bradley. It's being alleged that Margossian negotiated a purse figure without receiving the final approval from Maidana. When Maidana caught wind of the actual amount, it's being alleged that he used the excuse of a back injury to withdraw from two scheduled dates with Bradley, and also turned down a potential fight with Amir Khan for July 31. Bradley's promoter Gary Shaw placed the back injury story under question after Maidana's side failed to provide him with any medical documentation or treatment records for the injury. I hear the dispute between Maidana and Margossian is heading in the direction of a court house battle.
haye's back injury was bogus... so was andre dirrell's injury thus making the fight in his hometown .. everyone has thier reasons....
haye went from back injury then fighting other fighters...to no excuses.....then to "taking a vacation"
If he turned down Bradley and Khan because of money, who is he waiting for then...Pac or May? Is he a Plan B too?
Margossian is the one who Maidana says advised him not to fight Khan immediately after Ortiz (facts ignored by those who think Khan is the one responsible for the fight not happening). I wonder if Maidana knows he will lose against either Bradley or Khan and now thinks that he might have got more money if he just cashed out against Khan.
I think yes he would lose to both, but he has a much better chance against Khan because of the chin issues, and he'd probably make more money.
