I am so damned sick of hearing about these MX gloves! Let's examine the facts.

FACT: Floyd Mayweather fought Miguel Cotto at 154 pounds and won.

FACT: Miguel Cotto was wearing Everlast MX Gloves!!!
    Proof: http://l2.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/x...af4f71486ead0d1c373a1c298-getty-510740027.jpg
    In context: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/boxin...ules-one-pair-ok-for-the-fight-034750847.html

If Floyd is willing to face Cotto at 154 pounds with these gloves, why would he fear Maidana at 147? It doesn't make sense.

The gloves themselves are not the issue. The issue is trust. Maidana tried to cheat using gloves with no padding. Even though the back up gloves were approved, Floyd said no. It's his prerogative. He is the draw, and he is the cash cow. Personally, if someone tried to cheat me with some questionable gloves, I wouldn't trust his back up gloves either. I see no problem with Maidana getting some new gloves from a 3rd party, and apparently neither did Maidana because he agreed to it.

Notice that Maidana can't say (or at least hasn't said) that he has improved, or has new techniques for the rematch? Maidana hasn't said that his punching power, speed, or defense were a problem for Floyd. It's just been on and on about the gloves. Why?

The gloves are a red herring. Maidana has nothing for Floyd. He threw every elbow and knee he could, he punched behind the head, grappled, and did everything in his power to win that fight and still lost. Maidana is making excuses, and a lot of you are buying into the hype.

Fact 10 oz vs 8 oz

I agree though, it doesn't matter. Floyd is going to dominate him.

I saw a video where the guy from Everlast is like, they are the exact same gloves... So Im not sure where you are pulling the "Cheating" from.

And it almost... is like you are saying the gloves did matter, because "they had no padding, thus is tried to cheat".

Floyd requested 8oz gloves against Cotto. Cotto said NO, use the 10oz pillow gloves.

Yet Pac was so scared of Rios. Rios, the guy who just lost to Alvarado. That same Rios. Here's why: ARIZA!

If Maidana believed that he won the first fight with gloves that were not of his choosing than he should have no problem winning with those exact same gloves again. Why does he so desperately need to change them. Since according to him, he was the victor in the first fight against Floyd. Thus something is clearly fishy about his constant bombarding the media and Floyd about waiting to be allowed permission to use the gloves of his choosing.

Believing you won the first fight and officially winning the first fight are two different things. He probably feels he will be robbed without a KO.

And he won't get a KO wearing gloves that haven't had the padding removed.

If it doesn't matter, then Floyd should not be a bitchy diva and let Maidana wear his puncher's gloves.

I'm surprised he's fighting him after all the fouling he did in the first fight. I'm sure if Floyd had another name opponent to fight he would not fight Maidana in a rematch. This time around since we know Maidana's game plan was to be as dirty as possible, why wouldn't Floyd try to make things as difficult for Maidana with every diva demand. I almost can't blame him, if he Maidana is going to win, he's going to have to earn it the hard way.
