Although a respectable 2-1 in his last three fights Maidana has lost a little steam to me. Against Ortiz, Kotelnik and Cayo he threw a lot of shots, having great stamina and smashing his opponents up. He looked like this in the first round against Morales but soon let up- I know its a fast pace but he threw 1000 plus punches against Kotelnik and Kotelnik was firing back in that fight. In his last fights against Corley, Morales and Khan Maidana stuck with single pot shots not combinations. He got too excited against Khan and did not pick his shots. I think this is a good example of someone falling in love with there power. This Maidana to me would be picked of by Ortiz and Bradley- IMO he needs to resort to the old Maidana to have major success in the talented 140 division. He needs them hard combinations back to repel the top dogs. Thoughts?

Really? Ah well my bad I really didn't see him throw that many punches but then again I was pretty drunk. Would you agree he seems to be a different fighter to the one who beat Ortiz, Cayo and lost very closely to Kotelnik or do you believe he is showing his true potential?

Maidana is what he is, a crude puncher with some power and good foot and handspeed he is not however a clinician or well schooled in the art of boxing...he is niether a fancy combination puncher or posesser of outstanding footwork or movement

He is not a tactician...he comes and throws punches and absorbs shots he can be outboxed ie....a shot Morales with one eye. He is one dimensional choose to go toe to toe with Marcos and it favors him....the moment he fights a well schooled in prime counterpuncher or highly skilled boxer who also has power he is ****ed.

I wonder if Maidana has any issues making 140lbs?
    (Any insiders know)

I thought Maidana won the Morales fight based on activity alone. He certainly didn't land punches as effective as Morales did in that fight, but he did constantly keep his hands moving during those big lulls from Morales when he wasn't throwing anything at all.

Doesnt even have to be in prime. I picked JMM to TKO Maidana in the middle rounds.
I wanted that fight to get made so bad. I know its a possible FOTY type of fight and JMM would stop Maidana.
