It does sorta sound like it might be a case of the commision changing their mind under pressure, after all FMJ does bring a lotta revenue into the state. Either way it sounds like the difference musta been minimal as the gloves weighed right and had already been examined. Some who've seen them attest that Everlast MXs kinda look broken in when new which perhaps led FMJ to believe that they were broken in and the padding compacted (despite being factory sealed).
Arent both suppose to use the same gloves --- same make, same weight, same model, except colour. Different gloves do make a difference. And I thought that the choice of gloves is negotiated before signing the contract. That is how it used to be. That is the fairest.
Mayweather is trying to pull a fast one here. He has to fight with pillows because of his brittle hands, so he tries to force Marcos to do the same thing. Notice how fast he gets to "HE IS WEARING THE SAME GLOVES AS I AM!!!11!1", and then tries to play it like "It's settled" and pull away from the conversation in the f-hype video.:nut He must be scared trying to pull some bull**** like this. It's a DISGRACE to the sport given the kind of money he is paid to fight. Those gloves are standard Everlast MX gloves from the factory. Only customized thing about them is the colors. They are the exact same gloves Cotto wore btw. Maybe he doesn't want a bloody nose again..
Unfortunatly none of us know since we didn't try on the gloves personally..And I do agree that Nevada caved and they are the ones that need to be held accountable ..As long as he can wear the same ones he beat Broner with everything should be good .
there is probably nothing wrong with the custom blue pair of Mexican everlast, but the commission disapproved of them simply because it was Floyd mayweather and they could state that the custom were different to the regular when in fact they are manufactured exactly the same except the design is different. now the commission could not say the same about the red everlast, if they did then they would be found to be corrupt. potentially if they did not approve the red Mexican everlast then they could have been sued by any fighter who has fought in Nevada against someone who wore the red Mexican everlast.
The proof is in the padding. Ooops there was none in maidana case! His slim to none chance has been Confirmed to None!
