I can't remember, but I'll have to review the fght. But one that was pretty damn clear, though, was Maidana's usual rough-house tactics. He was on it as ruthlessly as ever, but unfortunately for him, he had a referee who wouldn't stand for it.

I seem to be getting the impression from most of the anti-Khan posters on here, they wanted a referee that would let Maidana to get away with his ****.

You mean Maidana walking Khan down and unleaching uppercuts on the inside?

C'mon man, there was'nt a whole lot of fouling going on.

Maidana's fight was to get in close and work those uppercuts that were finding Khan.

Its Khan's job to lateral out and find room when Maidana gets in close, but instead he'd occasionally clinch Maidana when the pressure got to him.
......and I'll say it again, Maidana even before the 10th when he was hurt was in range breaking out of the clinch to do Khan damage.........here comes Cortez to step in and disrupt Maidana's momentum from the pressure that had gotten to Khan........in steps Cortez to break the action as the punches were flying in the inside.:patsch

......and let me add, at one point Larry Merchant of HBO was miffed as to why Cortez was stepping in and not letting the fighters fight there way out of the clinch, as Maidana was constantly doing........

........Cortez almost reminded me of how Jay Nady officiates a fight.
Believe me, Nady is much worse than Cortez, as Nady steps in yelling break even in cases where the fighters have yet to clinch.......just on the mere thought that the fighters might be in position to get themselves in a clinch, Nady yells, "BREAK!":patsch:-(

Cortez was'nt as bad as Nady, but bad none the less.

I picked Maidana but I can't use Cortez as an excuse. He did protect Khan once from a potential knockdown in the 10th, but Maidana had over 1:30 to KTFO Khan and he didn't, the point deduction Maidana deserved it for what he did, maybe Khan escaped from a point deduction for excessive holding the head of Maidana down, but I still saw 113-113 with all of that.

its just because its cortez and its the in thing to do this when he refs lol they are mad because hatton couldnt wrestle still anyway

if anything cortez gave khan a new lease on life because i thought the fight was going to get stopped in the 10th had he ? this same poster would be complaining about the stop either way this thread exisits because its cool to talk about cortez lol so predictable

and for the op if maidana couldnt do it in round 10 then kahn will not be finding hiself in any real trouble the myth of his chin being china is shattered and he does have the power i thought he has and he will get better and nobody at 140 stands a chance
