Sando landing some sharp right hands. Commentators wondering if he could stop Findley early and questioning how big a statement that would still be despite him being forty. Very little in return from Findley - jabbing high and charging in headfirst, hoping to work the body but getting tied up and pushed away. Findley walking onto counter jabs as Sando creates distance.

Round 3

Findley following, trying to apply pressure, shooting up-jabs and then bending at the waist to advance low and try for hooking shots on the body. Sando keeps circling fluidly, outmaneuvering him, taking advantage of his considerable leg-length edge. Sando mostly spraying long jabs but piping in some right hands. Findley finally connected late with a right hand and had Sando slightly buzzed.

Findley started coming on strong in the first half of the fourth, but Sando recovered from what seemed like starting to gas and finished moving smoothly and peppering jabs between Findley's eyes. 4-zip.

 

Sando clinching and Findley wrenching his arms free and banging up top, making it a dogfight, pulling Sando down by the neck. Smart to do with a seven inch height deficit. Sando walks him onto a flush 1-2 and Findley just eats it and keeps swarming. Sando moving around now, jabbing constantly.

Ref takes a point from Sando, and the commentators both think it was BS.

9-9 round.

Findley having some success now, ducking and slipping punches while jabbing up into the chin and touching Sando's body with the right. Findley ducking too low for Sando to hit cleanly with his combos, a lot skidding off his gloves and the base of his skull. Findley digging the body well. Commentators aren't really giving Findley credit for his work.

Saido back in control in the 7th, dancing around, elusive, pot shotting with the jab.

Findley is pressuring but Sando running. Just enough jabs from Sando to edge the round.

Commentators can't get Maidel's pipi out of their mouths. He is having an excellent ninth, seeming to hurt Findley with some rapid body combinations while he's doubled over. Timeout called to fix Finley's gloves after they came untaped. Sando grinning as he casually steps to his left, avoiding the ropes and feeding Findley long jabs while staying well clear of any counter fire.

Findley needs a KO... we could be watching his last chance for one more decent upset on his ledger circle the drain these next few minutes.
