Because Khan's advisor is Al Haymon. Haymon is a chess master.
Khan is also better than everybody. Virgil trained Khan is a beast.

"They asked to be the mandatory. They asked for a 50-50 split if we don't come to an agreement and we went along with that," Michel told ESPN.com. "Adonis does not have a contract with Showtime, but we are affiliated with Showtime and PBC..."

I'm not quite sure chickenson has a real contract with Sho, I thought they just offered him the "most" his last fight or 2 fights.

I doubt they even matched hbo, I bet that's his golden get the fack away from kovalev card

    Bingo.

Al will sacrifice a challenger to potentially gain a title. But once a fighter has a belt, forget about it. That's why he signed off on Wade, but kept Jacobs away. Plus, if GGG had said no to Wade, that would've put the IBF right in PBC's stable. It's worth sacrificing Wade to potentially control that belt.

Khan may have been an exception either way simply because an Alvarez fight is a huge cashout for him.

It's basically HBO's refusal to deal with Hayman I think.
