This crap is ridiculous. No wonder nobody watches boxing when you have the main event starting around midnight. People are either asleep, or out at the bars already getting lit. Main events need to start no later than 10 pm EST.
Never understood this myself. Most PPV events are at homes who rather not stay up. I could understand if boxing was still shown in most bars, but it clearly isn't. Could hardly find a bar in NYC showing boxing over some other sport
EXACTLY!!! Now, I will say that I am a perpetual night owl, so, ultimately it doesn't effect me except for the fact that I simply do not want to wait until midnight. But, I'm speaking more in general terms of the viewing public.
It's not great funnily in Asia main events are MUCH earlier. I wonder if it's to do with venues making more money on drinks and stuff in the US and UK?
True that. The tv listing said 10:45-12:00 so I thought they were only showing the Hopkins fight. The prelim fight looks ok but I was hoping to crash by about midnight tonite but it looks like Hopkins-Kovalev won't be starting until midnight. Oh well, have to tought it out, hope the fight is worth it
I will never watch another HBO fight! They sucked us in, never mentioned the preliminary out here BS!
My thoughts exactly, on top of that they have the 1 Pac vs Algieri 24/7 starting after the fight. This is late night time slots they give for shows with low ratings. The only reason I could think for this is they don't want to compete against football.
Just shows how little they care about Pac-Algieri and what a hoax that fight is. There's probably some credence with regard to football, but, it's still moronic.
