Armstrong is a bad choice. But McGuire won't be in the HOF any time soon. And it's because of that hearing. "Well it's not what he said, but what he didn't say..."
The fact that neither McGwire or Sosa can't get a sniff at the Hall of Fame in spite of top 5 power numbers isn't proof enough for you? Wow. I realize this is probably a waste of time, but I'll humor you with just one article for now: Revisionist history McGwire's legacy should deny him a place in the Hall http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/phil_taylor/11/29/mcgwire.hof/index.html
Someone testified against McGwire that he used PED before. there's a strong case agaiinst him. Pac has none. Zero, nada, zilch, no evidence, no rats, case closed.
Pac is clean. it's just that he and his team are so far away, othyer side of the globe. and they speak another language. Pac and arum can't keep up with all the grenades floyd, shafer, oscar., paulie, atlas, etc launched at them. they are too far away. it's unbelievable these dirty rats have somewhat succeeded in besmirching the rep of a living legend. many people have doubts of a man who has passed every test and was willing to take extra tests beyond what was required. boxing and the corrupt monsters who control it, have sunk to a new low.
Not really. Before the allegations against Armstrong were rampant, the guy was over over the media and news with his inspirational story of beating cancer and winning the Tour. He was treated like an American Hero. But once the drumbeat of those allegations started (rightly or wrongly), including those coming from Greg LeMond and then having former teammate Floyd Landis test dirty, you don't hear anywhere near as much of the Armstong-as-insprirational-hero stuff that you used to. Matter of fact, when was the last time you've seen Armstrong on televison period?
You need to re-read this: If you don't think all this talk of 'afraid-of-needles, testing-weakens-me, the-commissions-testing-is-good-enough' talk is impacting Manny's legacy, you're kidding yourself.
Bull****. They've been on his jock since he won his first tour. The French and their anti-doping hit squad have thrown rocks every chance they get. It hasn't changed his status as an inspiration to those that he champions. Christ, even the people who are admittedly his enemies, like his ex teammate, Contador have confessed to buying Armstrong's book and stating that it helped him comeback from a threatening disease even though Alberto hates his guts. As for Lemond, he's full of **** and jealous that someone else took his seat as the hero of US Cycling. Also there's no doubt that he and all previous cyclist before the age of modern doping and testing, that they weren't doping. Rider's in Merckx's time would chew coca leaves going up mountains. FYI, coca leaves reduces the amount of oxygen needed by muscles to do work. That **** wasn't illegal back then, but it sure as hell is doping. Again, Lemond talks a lot of ****, especially since Trek dumped his sorry ass so now he goes around trumping up conspiracies. BTW, why you gotta bring Landis in just to cement your point? Landis wasn't even riding with Lance's old team, and Lance wasn't even in the ****ing tour. Landis was with Phonak, a whole different squad.
It's a totally different ****ing scenario. Mcgwire refused, Manny didn't. Pac didn't agree to Floyd commision, but is willing to do what is more than required by the boxing commission. Your argument doesn't hold water. give it up. Manny's legacy is secured period.
You said no one has ever taken a hit because of suspicion right? With proof he showed that you were wrong, then you deny it and try to change your argument? What about Sammy Sosa instead of McGwire as an example? Pacquiao "fans" are amazing.
I disagree. In the future when this is all done, people will see that Pac never failed an officially mandated drug test. They'll also see Mayweather has ducked Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, Berto, Clottey, Williams and Pacquiao while being a welterweight for half a decade. Pac won't be remembered as a cheater. He'll be held suspicious only be his diehard haters. Hell, if I told those haters Pac was using Filipino witchcraft, they'd use that as an excuse too for his success.
SoxNation, Like I said from the jump, this is just a waste of time. Dude is too far gone for rationality at this point.
