IMO Breidis is the 3rd greatest CW of all time edging both Haye and Huck due to a deeper resume.. The fight between he and Usyk deserved a rematch but Usyk’s HW dreams was already known before he turned pro..
Absolutely agree, very versatile fighter and while he’s not close to best CW there ever was, he’d definitely make them earn that W, just ask Usyk. Very happy to see my man Briedis getting the recognition and well deserved success. Also glad that Bellend’s shenanigans didn’t stall his career and rob Latvia of a now two-time world champion!
Technically he did win it though and the reason he was stripped, which I actually forgot, was because he agreed to fight Dorticos in the final instead of rematching Glowacki.
Of course he won and the WBO stripping him was BS, much like Glowacki’s complaints. He was more than happy to foul and take a dive most socker players would be proud of, yet somehow felt cheated enough to cry about the result.
The elbow was egregious but we can't ignore the fact it was in retaliation for the rabbit punch and Glowacki definitely milked it. The ref screwed that up royally though.
CW has only been around for about 35 years.. I’m aware of the other guys but IMO Holyfield and Usyk is 1A 1B then there is a huge gap from them to 3 which again imo is Breidis.. then you have guys like Huck, Haye, Qawi, De Leon, Gomez etc..
This cruiserweight era is the strongest. Mid 00s had some good fighters not fighting each other. All in all this era is stronger.
Okolie doesn't looks that might defeat Briedis or Dorticos. Match will look awful boring and Okolie will get steamtolled. Olkolie is very boring to watch, how much media might pay to broadcast octopus?
If Glowacki wins that is even better. Glowacki deserves a rematch with Breidis considering how their first fight played out (big fiasco).
