    Good post.

The only idiots who think that though are typcially Americans who have been insecure since the fall of communism.

We could handle Lennox Lewis b/c he was a Brit, a Canadian, a Jamaican.
But when K2 took over.......our insecurity skyrocketed. Along with the UKs. :huh

As others have stated he reminds me a lot of Adamek. However with that being said I think even current Adamek would box Charrs ears off.

    :good

Even Lennox got his respect begrudgingly...it really took awhile for him to get his due in the U.S. and overcome the stigma of being glass jawed and boring. The seed of insecurity was planted with him because we'd never seen a foreign heavyweight that good, but the scene was still, by and large, American. Lennox fought here and built his name here. Heck, he never lost here! That made it an easier pill to swallow eventually when we were starved for the next big name to fill in for aging versions of Tyson and Holyfield. By the tail end of his career, he finally got his due credit in the States.

K2 represented another leap from the status quo because now, not only are the 2 dominant fighters coming from the wrong area, they're not the only ones. The championship heavyweight scene itself shifts to Germany and foreign heavyweights, for the first time ever, made up the majority of the top 10. Wlad fights here when he feels like it and has no economic need to win fans over here.

That's a tough adjustment for people who like what they like and don't want change.

Spending time watching Cruiserweight fights may not help them feel at home thanks to the global talent base and lack of a strong U.S. presence, but at least the average fight there tends to be more aesthetically pleasing and there's more skills on display- just like the old familiar heavyweight fights they yearn for. :yep

Briedis could make a big a impact at HW and cruiser .a fight with Huck would be good .would KO huck in 4 rnds .that would create a big splash and would be a easy night for briedis IMO.not sure how he would do against the top boys at HW Wilder fury kong but he can hit so you never know?.

Briedis' manager says his next opponent is either Durodola who holds WBC Silver or Gassiev. Both fights would undoubtedly be an eliminator for WBC/IBF belts respectively.

The Nigerian is a decent figher, but he will be a huge underdog against Briedis IMO.Gassiev can punch, and will be a tougher nut to crack than Durodola.

Briedis vs Drozd will be an even match IMO.Drozd is getting old-he has been in a lot of tough fights over the years. He is still a very good boxer but Briedis is on his way up whereas Drozd wont be able to hold on his title for very long IMO.

Briedis just stopped Durodola in round 9, he was starting to take a brutal beating, Briedis looked bad to start with but took over after a huge round 4 and brutalized poor Ola.

Durodola is listed at 188cm, he looked taller than both Briedis and Dmitry.
I say he's 6'3 and comes in at ~215 on fight night. Big tough cruiser.

Beast... He's Adamek all over again. Definitely deserves a crack at one of the belts.
