Very well deserved. Congrats on getting out with a great record of achievement and all his faculties.
You ever have that where someone's like "He's Eurolevel." and you're coming back like "You mean the best level then?"
Excellent fighter, great career, ATG CW, and he must've caught the boxing gods when they were in a very generous mood because they blessed him with an abundance of talent and physical gifts An iron chin - never hurt, let alone dropped, stopped or knocked out Savage very explosive punching power Speed Skills Ring IQ Good engine Good footwork Big heart Could box or bang equally well Good punch arsenal and shot selection He's strong in pretty much all departments Shame we never saw him campaign up at HW as I think he would've done really well up there too The fact he was able to push a super talented young lion like Opetaia so hard when in his late 30s and hurt him and had him seemingly close to defeat, especially late in their first fight, just further cemented his reputation and proved how tough and how much of a warrior he was too. And we all saw how hard he pushed a prime Usyk when he was in his prime
Yep his only losses are to Usyk and Opetaia and he gave both guys hell. If I remember correctly Tony Bellew dropped his belt to avoid him I would've loved to have seen him splatter Bellew haha.
Great boxer, great cruserweight. He should and will be high on top 10 cruserweight list of all time. Shame we cant see his fight with prime Murat Gassiev. This will be good fight. He looks very good even in reematch with Opetaia soo I think he still got plenty in fueltank. Im little shock that he end right now. Maybe he feel he lost many health.
Huge amount of time for Mairis, pushed Usyk as hard as anyone - and that was a prime Usyk as well! Although you could see he was past prime, he still gave Opetaia fits in the championship rounds of their last fight. Enjoy your retirement!
This content is protected One of my favourite knockouts! He made me cringe with the Jake Paul chasing, but that's trivial.
Yeah, the thing is, as great a career as Briedis did have, he still underachieved given the talent he was blessed with And he only had 31 fights in a 15 year career and only fought once in 2019, once in 2020, once in 2021, once in 2022, not at all in 2023, and once in 2024 which was his final fight, so only five fights in six years That's right he did and yes he would've sparked Bellew
Dorticos Glowacki Huck Mikaeljan (bit of a gift) Perez Charr Durodola Mann Not bad. And about half of viewers thought he won the first Opetaia fight, so he gets some cred for that.
