There is some very big difference: while Usyk at HW was slower than at CW with Briedis this was opposite. He looked better with 213-214 lbs weight in weight, I think because better " lubricated " legs. When he had beat Charr he had been ranked highly at HW but looks that could not generate enough money for next top 10-15 opponents at HW. Looks that at least for Durodola he had enough $ to book fight vs CW WBC Silver belt holder. Briedis isn't large, as adult he had made even 86 kg weight for weight ins for am KB. Maybe cos he looks that always had been responsible enough to make weight in in limits, 0 failures in ams or pros and after 9 months? without fights and due his age he just does not feel sure to make weight in contracted limit and still perform well? Depends from matchamking and shape he does have. He might be beautiful to watch as true A+++ level and might happen to be very boring to watch.
His age will be limiting, but heavy has degenerated into absolute crap, with the same 8-12 guys being constantly recycled. If Briedis gets some fights, he can make some noise, but I have the feeling that before we see him get any kind of shot, we are going to see Parker-Chisora II, Whyte-Chisora III, Parker-Whyte II, Joshua-Whyte II, Joshua-Ruiz III, Ruiz Parker II, Wilder-Ortiz III, etc. Maybe Povetkin leaving has created a void that he or Gassiev can fill.
Eddie maybe had assumed that he will be not more expensive than Glowacki to book for Okolie to fight in U.K and under eddie clauses. While Briedis I think had insisted on dual side clauses because he is a title holder with 2 belts: IBF and The Ring belt and Okolie is with WBO belt he had get in fight vs Glowacki. Fair play here might be only dual side clauses here. Ohh, greedy Eddie. Chisora or Whyte? I think he if in good shape will finish them. Briedis struggles with movers who does have good jabbing and loves lads who are going to KO him with predictable power punches. To some extent he is a bit more suitable for HW than Usyk or Huck.
Granted he left it too late but that CW Level power will still be a problem for all these glass-jawed Uber drivers up at HW This content is protected This content is protected
Vicious KO power in both hands Quick hands and feet Skillful can box on the move or stand and trade Good engine Strong Nice array of punches in his arsenal Very good chin (never been down or even hurt really) A very complete fighter
I suspect that this will depend how much money Briedis might generate. In semi pros he had finished guy who is undefeated as HW in Glory pro KB. I think big problem might be stuff that not easy to know in what shape he will be. While, if thinking what damaged old ( I will be realistic and sharp with this ) did vs Glowacki, he might be sometimes very entertaining and damn watchable.
He can still be top 10 HW with this weak opponents. I would bet that he will KO Kownacki, Chisora, Whyte.
