Chisora is a decent enough gatekeeper and does decent enough PPV numbers to make it worth his while.

On top of that, if he can pass the Chisora test in more convincing fashion than Usyk did, it might help catapult him into some of the bigger fights more quickly.

I don't see any problem with him facing Chisora - he may want a warm-up first, though.

Holyfield, Adamek, Haye, Usyk, Gassiev, Briedis...

FFS, if just a few elite cruisers would stay the **** put and cement their legacies there, it could become a fully legitimized division in just a single generation instead of perpetually being an "on-deck circle" for guys waiting on that move-up to cash out at heavy. :ohno

Mey. Holy, Haye and Adamek did pretty well, and I suspect Usyk is going to. Gassiev could beat most of the guys at heavy, but you can just see he will be fighting the Erken Teper's ten years from now.

Fine, but IDGAF about their selfish individual successes. They chose mediocrity above when they could have been gods below.

But some of those guys increased their legacy by moving up, so...

Got to say though, whatever the detail, it's been the site of some excellent fights and fighters over the last decade. 2012ish onwards, it's been loads of fun.

    Nice!

Chisora/Hunter/Wyhte/AJ. Nice path to a title...

Disagree, they fattened their wallet size, not their legacies, at the division's legacy's expense.

I don't buy the whole "cruisers moving up to HW is so brave" narrative. Most of them are big enough that average HW punches won't be too different from what they feel at 200lbs, and they have major speed advantages over most of the seven-foot plodders. And the kicker is, they go up knowing they have the safety net of that built-in excuse. "Whoopsies, guess I was undersized :D :nusenuse:"

Yeah not cute. You went money chasing, admit it. You ain't brave. Stay put and be great and be the man in your weight class, a`la Hagler.

Weight jumping is overrated. Not everyone needs to be Pacquiao.

Holyfield and Haye did not increase their legacy by winning world heavyweight championships?

I think Gassiev and him both know that this isnt the smartest idea but there are no over 2 weight classes where the gap between each other is so big.

Always reminded me of a CW Kessler somewhat.. His power can transfer to HW.. he already sparked Charr but he's too old now to make a real impact , I'll still watch tho, he's a brilliant fighter

So you maybe think that Briedis despite having 2 belts should sign stuff like one sided rematch clauses vs Okolie and fight vs him in eddie backyard for purses like Glowacki had? LOL. Legacy.
The Ring Belt sadly looks now is more valuable than WBO belt with little doubts.

If you ask about most likely results vs old over the hill Briedis version from fight vs Dorticos fight then I think:
this old guy's version had finished Pulev's version from A.J fight and Povetkin from Whyte I and II fights in distance, also Chisora.
Vs enough motivated Parker I think fight had been ended on cards and not likely Usyk had beated HW Briedis version at HW just because Briedis is more suitable for HW than Usyk or even Hunter, Huck.

I don't think that Briedis dreams to be HW champ while he might have cash out fights at HW if in good shape pretty watchable and entertaining, maybe even exib fights etc alike.
