Yeah, matchup is awful.
Briedis is old, last fight was year ago. It is nothing for 26 years old lad if compare with guy who soon will be 37.
Briedis also had ring rust before Dorticos fight approx 15 months.


Looks that after Dorticos fight he had some attempts to get Makabu fight, ofc he isn't enough cheap and wasn't enough old I think then.
Then had attempted to move in HW and this Eddie with his Okolie had appeared. I suspect cos Eddie clauses and maybe damn too low $ ( Eddie) it did not had happened until IBF had ordered Cieslak.
There mesh with him and looks that IBF might had offered Opetaia ( ranked #3 exactly below Cieslak ).

If Briedis have intent to move in HW, maybe better was to book for him Pulev, Chisora like boxers to fight with.
