I bet Haymon advised Glowacki to drop the title.

I think WBO is not willing to sanction that fight, they want a mandatory defence.

Speaking of Glowacki, David Price stopped him in the amateurs. So did Islam Timurziev too. Both are huge punchers and very big guys too (natural SHWs) whereas Glowacki looks like a natural CW or HW in the amateurs.

2008-02-26 +91kg David Price ENG Krzysztof Glowacki POL KO 2

07-03-24 +91kg Islam Timurziev RUS Krzysztof Glowacki POL AB 1

    For real.

Wins the title on American TV, with a huge audience, in GRAND FASHION, vs the era's MOST SUCCESSFUL and notable CW, and promptly drops his title to avoid a 9 fight still amatuerish at times fighter.

Im fairly high on Usyk, but like Beterbiev, and more notably, Lomachenko, there are noticeable lapses where they resort to the amatuer style of scoring punches.

Big hitters, Glowacki included for obvious reasons, would have a very real chance at exploiting those lapses.

To drop the title in what could later be a career defining victory, is COWARDICE of the most notorious kind.

I mean, does he have a Huck rematch for 2 million or something that we don't know about??? Winner of Ledbedev Ramirez????

A fight with Potvetkin, Klitschko, Fury, or Haye????

    We gotta wonder what gives?????:huh:huh:huh

    I'd duck Usyk, straight up.

He was dropped and nearly koed by Huck as well. Everyone's susceptible to being cought, especially in the amateurs.

I still don't know how good Glowacki is, maybe he just had the night of his life be Huck, but he does have an iron will and serious power, I think he'd be a problem to anyone at cw.

He actually really impressed me against Huck. Like I said, Price and Timursiev are huge guys (or rather was for the later) and carry serious power even for SHWs whereas Glowacki is clearly not a SHW so I wouldn't read too much into those defeats.

Some people actually count it as semi-legitimate. (I don't, but..)

I actually think Brieidis won that fight, but it was very close.

The other star of Bigger's Better Konstantin Bejenaru (who beat Bacurin and never lost there) is also very skilled boxer but has little power and is too small to make a noise at CW.

So is there any sources for this WBO talk enforcing an immediate mandatory and not sanctioning the Glowacki/USS bout or is speculation?

As mentioned dropping the belt after such an exciting high profile win to duck a guy with 9 fights looks horrendous...even for a Haymon fighter.

I think it's pretty simple, Haymon did it with Quillin, if Glowacki wanted to stay with PBC and on Al's payroll then he has to face Cunningham next.

WBO was going to strip him if his next opponent is not Usyk.

I think just speculation. AFAIK that is a go for Glowacki's first defense.
