Very odd that Briedis is going to Australia for a no name fighter.

    Huge step up for Opetaia,
a bit too big of a step up honestly…
Jai is skilled and quick, but hasn’t been tested whatsoever

I think he is too old. He probably can make more money at cruiserweight defending his belt and then bust retire.

If Briedis has anything left he walks through this kid. Strange fight to be made, for the top CW to have to travel to Oz to fight.

Sad to say, but there is no money to be made in Latvia. It is strange that Briedis is the one traveling, but he's more likely to make more money fighting in Australia than Latvia, since the market is so much bigger there.

Plus, Briedis is an aging fighter and Cruiser is not an exciting division these days. It's easy to see why he would travel for a bigger payday.

I think Arum promotes him, because last year Arum was trying to hype him by saying that he wanted him to fight Fury.

So there is probably truckloads of money involved.

Trying to fight Paul Logan, and getting tattoos about him whacks of a man looking to fight the very best

Briedis is embarrassing. Even buying Instagram followers to raise his profile. He went from 100k to 1M "followers" in a few days. Quite easy to see that's not organic.

I like Jai Opetaia a lot, but he should be out of his depth here - Briedis is considerably more skilled and experienced.

Can't have another Kamboses-esque aberration in quick succession. Briedis takes this for me. Imo Opetaia brings nothing that would suggest otherwise.

Sometimes blokes with plenty of talent can make the big step up & get it done.

Would like to have seen him lay a better platform for his title challenge with a series of decent lead-in fights, but no question Opetaia has talent. Qualifying for an Olympic games as a 16 year old tells you that.

Get him sparring some hard rounds with Justis Huni in the lead-up & Briedis will have a fight on his hands.

I think Briedis see’s it as a paid holiday to Australia what he deems a low risk opponent

I am hearing Jeff Horn could be making his return on the under card

If that's the case then I smell danger for Briedis.
