Yeah this is one of the rare ones where I want them to heal up and go straight for round 13.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the promoter Duco (same promoter Horn had) don’t allow a rematch they know they got the robbery and will avoid the rematch like they did with Pacquiao

Optaia should've been docked for excessive holding for the last few rounds and therefore a draw imo.

I'm convinced Bob allowed for that to happen as well, he saw it as an easy opportunity to put a belt on his best young fighter.

Jai sounded like Milo Kerrigan at the end.

Shut the **** up, even half asleep I'm a better scorer of Aussie matches than your biased ass when you have a raging hate-on for someone.

I mocked Jai's chance, picked Briedis by KO and was actively rooting for him, even at teh midway point. Yet I remained objective. Clearly you couldn't.

Sure, I could see a close 115-113 win for Briedis, but robbery? Please.

Fight of two halves and a fair result in my opinion. Briedis is obviously past his best but Opetaia is a talent and he boxed beautifully in the first half of the fight where he inflicted a lot of damage on Briedis whose reaction times aren't what they once were and he subsequently couldn't get out of the way of anything Opetaia threw at him. The biased commentary was ridiculous the way they kept calling blocked shots for Opetaia though.

Briedis displayed great heart, chin and determination to battle back from his injuries and poor start and swept most of the rounds in the second half of the fight and had he not kept smothering his work after landing with big singles (albeit Opetaia was holding and smothering too) he could've and very likely would've stopped him because he had more in the tank and Opetaia was very tired and obviously his jaw was badly broken and he was in a lot of pain. But Opetaia displayed great heart, chin and determination fighting with a badly broken jaw and I think he just nicked it.

Dumb of Briedis and his team to travel to the backyard of the hungry young undefeated talented challenger at 37 years of age and only having fought once and had a couple of rounds of action in almost two years. He draws big crowds in Riga so that was a big risk to take and one which obviously backfired.

Just got to watch this. First off, what a scrap!! Briedis definitely looked a bit past his best tonight but Jai still impressed me a lot. I had it a draw on first viewing. Would have no issues with 7-5 either way.

Aussie machine is working on the social media. Just look at those comments. always same people who is bias and praising one guy, who got 116 gift score from both US judges.

Let's forget it and move on. another robbery in the history of the sport.

You need to trade your seeing eye dog in, obviously it and you are blind AF if you call that a robbery. Go watch golf or something.

Had it 114-114, but I felt like there was more room to swing rounds to Opetaia than vice versa. Even 116-112 JO isn't completely outside the realm of possibility since he had a very good case for winning the first six and had a decent case for shading at least a couple more in the second half.

The fight ruled. One of the best I've seen this year with both guys did considerable damage to one another at different points in the contest.

Congrats to the Aussie. Bob Arum has said that he was a major talent, and he beat the lineal champ.

Maybe Briedis will ask for the rematch, or, better yet, have a few fights at heavy before he hangs them up.
