With good acid, no. I am on apple cider vinegar acid. A lot of it. Bragg's.

Try actually watching the match, processing what happened before making an ass out of yourself in a cheap attempt to get a dig in on Usyk. Not only did Briedis take Opetaia into deep waters this morning, he may have ended his career, even in losing.

That's something that people haven't taken into consideration. Did Damon and Fenech, the ref and the corner, get so carried away, and so over the moon happy about the prospect that an Aussie will beat the man at Cruiserweight, that it caused them to be incredibly irresponsible with the long term health of Opetaia and possibly risked his career. Let's cut the **** here, is that an injury one can actually come back from? Not only was Jai's jaw broken, it was completely shattered, like probably broken into pieces. The entire left side of his face was caved in for Christ sake. By not throwing in the towel after the broken jaw was so visibly apparent he could no longer close his goddamn mouth or even talk, it caused him to take so much damage in the 12th that it might've ended up being an injury there's no coming back from. So if there was ever a match where someone barely lost the fight but brutally won the war, it was this one.

    Yeah could be.
His body doesnt seem well adjusted to boxing he’s VERY injury prone.
    Broken hand
    Broken ribs
    Now broken jaw
He’s sadly got a soft body.

Many boxers in the past have fought on, win or lose, with broken jaws.
This guy will bounce back from it, heart is there, skills to protect himself are there too.

On second viewing, this maybe could’ve been a draw but I don’t see how he should’ve been pulled out. The guy was firing back and stayed active the whole time, no real signs of “ah ****, I don’t want to be here” at all.

His point was about Opetaia’s health in the future.

It did cross my mind for future fights whether his chin has suffered some long term damage. He took an absolute battering in there in the 2nd half of the fight. Dont get me wrong, I hope he's all good and can make a speedy recovery and make a good title run, but the concerns are there for me. I'd say it'll be a good year minimum before we see him out again.

    Yeah, I got that.
Shattered jaw is hardly something unfixable.

Honey Boy Bratton could never fix it.
I’m sure you will say that was 60 years ago, modern medicine etc
Victor Ortiz was never the same either.
Its really a terrible injury to have as a boxer.
Abraham was a savage to cone back from it and have a career.

It’s not that I disagree with you, shattering anything is less than ideal if your job is to expose it to more damage.
It’s all relative though, shattered orbital is worse, shattered jaw for someone who goes face-first is worse than someone who’s primarily a boxer.

From my observations, this guy will do well.
Mairis couldn’t finish him off or even back him up, despite banging onto a jaw already in pieces, once it heals up, with metal in it or not, he’ll do fine.

They both displayed a ton of heart which is being overlooked by some. I was actually proud of the way Briedis hung tough and battled back from his injuries and poor start in the second half of the fight. It really did look like it was going to be a case of the old warrior in the twilight of their career getting overwhelmed and stopped by the hungry young challenger at one point, but he dug really deep and came very close to turning it around. That beautiful uppercut that shattered his nose was brutal and landed with a sickening thud.

Opetaia displayed crazy heart, chin and toughness too. Imagine how painful being hit repeatedly flush on your grotesquely broken jaw by a puncher as powerful as Briedis would be.

Fight flew under the radar. Havent seen much footage of jai before the fight but what i seen was decent and expected a tough fight and possible upset for opetaia. He proved just that. Brutal fight for both. But cant help but think one more round and briedis would have knocked him out cold..
Jai did well to avoid some big punches in the 12th. They both took shots which would have knocked out 99% of the cruiserweight division IMO. Briedis has a ton left in him also thats what i took from this fight.
